Bio
Cody Blane was born and raised in Houston, Texas and has called Central Florida home since 1996. With a relatively small amount of formal training, he began writing music and playing piano by ear when he was twelve years old. In the summer of 2000, he spent a summer waiting tables at a high-end resort in Nantucket, Massachusetts, where he began writing songs that more closely chronicled his own experiences. Two of these songs, "Bumper Stickers and Dreams" and "Meet Me in Madaket" would soon become the stepping-off point for his first album, Bumper Stickers and Dreams.
The album, released October 24, 2006 on indie label Missionary Records, takes listeners on a roller-coaster ride of human emotion. From the fun romance of "Meet Me In Madaket" and the self-deprecating sarcasm of "You're So Righteous" to darker and more emotional ballads like "Silence" and "Slow Forward Progression," Cody Blane's self-financed and self-produced first release will surely leave an impression on you.
Cody Blane is a member of the Recording Academy and a writer/publisher member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).
