Bio

At an early age, Cody Lee developed a love for pop songs. At age 6, while most kids his age were playing sports or collecting comics, Cody was playing the drums along to his favorite Kiss or Beatles records. These days, most people know Cody as being the drummer behind the brilliant indie/pop band Buck Jones. After 5 years, 3 albums, and a nationwide tour with The Goo Goo Dolls, the band broke up, leaving Lee at a crossroad in his career. Cody began recording songs in the new millennium that would become his debut CD, Living Stereo. Some were songs that hadn’t quite fit the Buck Jones sound, and others were new ideas that had spawned from the sudden creativeness that followed the band’s demise. He set up a studio at home, in hotel rooms, basements and rehearsal rooms to record almost every instrument on this 1st solo effort. The remarkable aspect of this record is that Cody played, recorded, wrote and produced every song on Living Stereo. On top of that, the record sounds amazing. Lee worked with friend/producer David Castell (Course of Empire, New Bohemians) in mixing the CD, and the result is a great, indie pop record that is "imbued with an almost instinctive flair for sweet, ear tickling tunes.. evokes the spirit of pop past.." (Fort Worth Weekly) The songs draw influence from the 60's and early 70's pop sound while his lyrics explore the perils of love, loss and discovery. Lee is currently residing in Los Angeles where he is rehearsing for a national tour that will start in the fall of 2001, and putting the finishing touches on an exclusive internet EP.
