Inspired by the wide-open ranges, rolling wheat fields and agrarian upbringing on his family’s farm in Dos Palos, California, Cody has filled his life with music. Cody’s interest in music began when he was a young man. “I’d ride in the tractor with my dad and we’d listen to country music singing along to every song on the radio”. Drives Me Wild

Written By: Cody Sumpter & Joe Goodman

“DRIVES ME WILD”
I can still feel those butterflies, your long brown hair and the way you sigh, when I kiss your lips.
the feel of your fingertips. The way you’d nestle in our bed and the way you’d scratch the back of my head on a Sunday drive, I’ve never felt so alive... I wish I could go there… again. oh how I wish I could go back there again.

Like the time we went on that long long drive, you screamed and laughed at the buffalo, along that windy road to my parent’s home.
A city girl in a cowboy’s world there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for that girl and her classic smile ...
And I wish I could go there… again. oh how I wish I could go back there again.

She drives me wild and there’s nothing I can do, i'm ten feet tall, when i'm with her, she’ll make a man out of you. The way she smiles and theirs nothing I can say, to make things better, when she’s with me that’s a perfect day. She drives me wild…She drives me wild.

She’ll take you by the horns and through you right down. She can make a smile out of any frown, ya she’s my saving grace, my once in a lifetime place. She's a cold brew on a long hot day and so many times, I just can’t say what she means to me. She's my everything. And I wish I could go there… again. oh how I wish I could go back there again.

(Bridge)
And as time goes by, with each day I sigh and let her go. And when I close my eyes I think back to what I used to know…

What I Left Behind

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

What I left Behind

What I left behind, was a life that was broken
All the promises made, all the words left unspoken
I gave in every time, hoping it wouldn’t be the same
Now tears are falling, cause your gone, maybe I’m the one to blame.
More numb to the pain, then I could ever see
You’re the reason that I cry girl, you’re the missing part of me.

What I left behind, was a friend I had to lose
And when it came down to the end, it was what I had to choose
I tried again, for you to let me in; you’re the girl I could never find
My heart, my love, my friend, you’re what I left behind.
Just give me a chance to love you one more time.
Verse 2
Come back to me; let me hold your hand.
I don’t want to live without you, won’t you please, please understand
Well I’m numb to the pain, then I could ever see. You’re the reason that I cry girl, you’re the missing part of me.

Instrumental
I tried again, for you to let me in; you’re the girl I could never find
My heart, my love, my friend, you’re what I left behind.
Just give me a chance to love you one more time.

Livin' in a Moment

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

LIVIN’ IN A MOMENT
Verse 1
Everything in this world that has ever made me cry, is everything I believe that’s makes me feel alive. And I’ve seen walls fall, and I’ve seen men at war, and everyday I wake up wondering what for.

Because we’re living in a moment, and I’m loving every bit, and everything I’ve ever known well I’m loving it.
Verse2
And I’ve never seen rain fall with out a cloud in the sky. And there have been days I’ve never felt so alive. But if god is waiting for us, why does he waste his time? Take what he is looking for and leave us fools behind.

Because we’re living in a moment, well i'm loving every bit and everything I’ve ever know well I’m loving it.

Have you every got lost in your babies eyes, looking for the answer, it comes as no surprise. It’s a reason to move on, it’s a reason to survive. It’s those little miracles that keep us alive.

Living in a moment, well I’m loving every bit and everything I’ve ever known well im loving it, oh I’m loving it.

Lost At Love

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

LOST AT LOVE…
Verse 1
She had long Blond hair and pretty green eyes, cute little figure, not much to criticize. I played to game hard, I played the game to win. I stuck by my guns and never let her in. The moral of the story and I’m sure you’ll agree, sometime you outsmart yourself and end up like me. This girls no different, like others I’ve had. I got what I wanted and never felt bad.

Now it’s a Heartache a cold run, that’s what happens when you have too much fun. It’s sleepless nights, walking in the rain. I’m on my knees feeling nothing but pain. This empty bottle of gone, you lost at love.
Verse 2
When I was a young man looking for love, girls was all I wanted when push came to shove. I’d listen to their story; I’d hear what they’d say. I believed what they told me in every way. I found out what they wanted was nothing long term, they’d push me aside and I was the one burned. The moral of this story and I’m sure you’ll agree, sometimes you out smart yourself and end up like me.

Instrumental…
Bridge
Everyone tell me to keep playing games, I know real love then will go down in flames.

I’ve got a New Rodeo, yes it’s the big show, The more we dance the more we drink, this little girl is making me think, I’m having the best time I’ve ever had, the kissing, the hugging, and the loving …I got a new rodeo
Verse 2
It used to be that going to the rodeo was the most important thing in my life…
Now I’m on rodeo buying skirts and boots, ya darling that’s so cute.
The boys keep asking when I’ll be back I just smile and let them know, there ain’t nothing taking me away from this girl... I never thought I’d say it; she’s one of a kind, so why not give it a whirl

Fall Too Fast

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

Fall to Fast…
Verse 1
Sleepless nights and crying out loud, walking by myself in a lonely crowd.
Thinking of things I should have said, and how I should have waited.
Fools rush in and so did I, love seemed strong but now its faded
You should have seen that girl just standing there, with her soft blue eyes and her long blond hair.

When you fall to fast, just praying it lasts, and all you’re left with is an empty glass. The pain inside and those lonely nights…when you fall to fast.

Verse 2
I spoke to soon with open heart. Went on and on to an empty chair. I talked of love and how I felt, she didn’t hear and didn’t care.
The lesson learned it’s sad but true, it happen to me it can happen to you, before you jump, before you leap, remember love’s a two way street.

Another Love Song

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

I can’t take another love song…

Verse 1

I can’t take another love song, someone talking about what they done wrong… How they could’ve done this, they should’ve done that, It’s the same old story with the same old case… They said it for ever and its going to last, this time its perfect not like the past…Billy’s loves Amy, Amy’s is gone, they’re relationships over boo who move on…
Chorus
I don’t need to heard it, I don’t even care…I’m feed up with talking, life’s not fair, its the here and now not the future and the past… Tonight’s the night to make it last…
Verse 2
There’s a girl across town living out her wedding plan, picked out the roses still looking for the man. She can’t wait to find her Mr. Right, already planned out the rest of their lives. Turn up the radio, and gets lost in her dreams, it’s all picture perfect, so she may think. When she finally finds him he’s not what he seems… Reality is harsh it’s broken all her dreams
Chorus
BRIDGE
I’m not saying that that love is bad, I’m not saying don’t take a chances… we can talk about it all night long, I’d rather being doing it then singing this song…
Chorus

Good Friends

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

GOOD FRIENDS
You and I’ve been good friends, loving you till night ends
Sharing all the good times, and the little split ends
And through all the curves that came my way, you were always there.
To tell me things would be alright. Taking time to care.
And you knew who you were, while you showed me my way.
Navigating our home, all throughout life highways.
Each and every journey, and the stops along the way
Fills my heart with love and kindness, that keeps me day to day.
Chorus
You and I, just us two, take the world on, and it’s true
If I had the chance again, I’d still fall for you.
And then we would be free to do it all again
Be my lover and lady, my partners till the end.
INSTRUMENTAL
And there were some tough times, when I thought I’d lose you
I tried out some bad lines, mostly to amuse you.
Hopping all our friends who tie the knot, will have a love like ours.
Filled with tears of joy and gladness, filled with lifes applause
Chorus
You and I, just us two, take the world on, and it’s true
If I had the chance again I’d always fall for you.
And then we would be free to do it all again … Honey please…won’t you marry me…

Sleepin' in My Truck Bed

Written By: Joe Goodman & Cody Sumpter

Sleeping in My Truck Bed

Came home frisky, it’s the beer and the whiskey, that’s got me in trouble again. Playing with fire can’t stop my desire to party all night with my friends. Thought she’d be sleeping through the back door I’m creeping, but she was there waiting for me. She read me the rulebook I felt like a real Crook, this isn’t where I want to be. Now and then I ask myself is this all worth while, but then I think of the times we’ve have and I can’t help but smile.

Now I’m sleeping in my truck bed, nursing this fat head, trying not to feel the pain. Looking for the answers, tomorrow I’ll romance her, and I’m praying it won’t rain. If I learn to change my ways I’ll never see my friends, but if I don’t you’ll find me back here sleeping in my truck again.
Verse 2
First thing in the morning I won’t need a warning, I’ve got some explaining to do. All my excuses, my aces and deuces won’t change my love for you. The only thing missing is you and me kissing the next time we go back there. Dancing and drinking, Laughing and loving, and together we’ll end up here. Now and then I ask myself is this all worthwhile, but then I think of the times we’ve had and I can’t help but smile.
