Bio

The Coffee Incident is a Colombian alternative rock band formed in 2009 when four music students begin to play covers in pubs and cafés. Their first gig was in a bar called “Cheers”, by that time Luis Escobar used to be the lead singer but in the middle of the show the band encouraged Andrea to sing “Creep” by Radiohead with them, this end it up amazing the public and gaining her a spot in the band.
By 2010, after a few months looking for a suitable name, “The Coffee Incident” came as a revelation to a drummer completely driven by coffee; this Incident wraps around itself the idea of every little or big thing that could possibly happen while you drink a cup of coffee. The name was well received by the rest of the band and each member could tell a different story of it’s meaning.
The band offers a sound that grows everyday and with every composition. The final lineup is: Andrea and her alternative, rock, jazz roots, highly influenced by the great voice of Ella Fitzgerald and her piano studies. Juan, violin (Jihad) who creates this hypnotic melody that attracts you to a mixing of classic, blues, rock and Arabic music. Lucho, the great left-handed guitar player who loves reggae, latin rock, and funk. Rafael, a drummer that carries within the self proclaimed “drummers disease” that even in his less lucid moments come alive and Teo who after being in and out of the band for years, return as an official member in 2011 bringing with him a new energy that promise to keep you in the tip of your toes.
At the end, The Coffee Incident is a mix, like every good coffee.
