"Cold Blood Club Releases a First EP"

You remember 'White Boyz' right? The song that tried to make white male timidity into a cool thing, while being picked up for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012 to soundtrack catwalks across Bryant Park. Indeed, Cold Blood Club are almost too catchy for their own good. Well, now the group is back with their first official EP, 'Headlines & Firefights.' Lead vocalists Kendra Jones and Brad Peterson are not exactly known for being timid, so you know when they do something new, it's sure to turn heads. And based on their increasing penchant for loud, obnoxious party music, and loud, insane parties... it's bound to be a thing best experienced live. - Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets) - Deli Magazine

"Cold Blood Club: Headlines & Firefights"

Here at RUST we got word of a hot new band coming up from the NY scene several months ago and Cold Blood Club has just now delivered their debut album "Headlines & Firefights" and they have both lived up to the hype and stayed true to their vision. What you've got here is a hard core house-party rock machine that kills it in the pop and club space. They're ready for the main stage, and this is a band that will speak to a huge variety of listeners, so we're expecting them to be playing to full houses.

Cold Blood Club gets the party started and keeps it going all night long. Bringing a tight, intense new take on New Order and Depeche Mode space, CBC speaks to your mind and shakes your bass with danceable tracks that really rock. This is a small studio project that turned into a monster, and it’s one of those albums that truly makes and entrance and leaves an impression. 6 tracks means it's technically an EP, but every track is a no-holds-barred winner, and it feels more like a full album. It really is impressive to hear such good songs back to back where each song has it's own feel and identity.

And there's more crossover potential here than in just about any album we've ever reviewed. This music just has no borders or colors or age. "Headlines & Firefights" has such a non-stop power and intensity that it will not be categorized or contained. This is the soundtrack to your life today.

Cold Blood Club has an irrepressible big-time feel and sound. The mastering is just plain awesome, the songwriting and performances are *duh* great and all put together it combines into something larger than life. It's a bold, confident band that deserves to be on it's way straight to the top. With mad crazy crossover potential, a mix of tempos and emotions, Cold Blood Club’s new album brings heart, soul and talent together in a powerful statement that comes straight from the heart. Very Highly Recommended. - RUST

"Cold Blood Club Get Fans On Their Feet At The SoundDessert Showcase"

Headliners Cold Blood Club brought their A-game to their spirited set at the SoundDessert showcase on Friday, March 23rd at The Bowery Electric. Donned in SoundDessert shades (the night's swag), the banned entertained with bold electronic dance tracks.

Their infectious melodies, not to mention boundless energy, had people up on their feet and getting down on the floor. With all the fun Cold Blood Club was having jumping around the stage, it was hard to resist taking part. Guitarist Tom Stuart even sprang onto the floor at times, unable to be limited to the confines of stage right. To his left Hilary Davis whirled with her violin alongside bassist Jesse Reno, while drummer Shin Kamei played with intensity and style, in a dapper white blazer. At the mics vocalists Kendra Jones and Bradley Peterson belted out each song with cool confidence.

On the track "White Boyz" Kendra sings, "I need a nice white boy...give me a blue-eyed toy," and shouted mid-song for all the white boys in the audience to come up to the stage. A little timid, most of the boys weren't feeling quite brave enough to honor her request. Kendra didn't let them off the hook that easy though. Finishing the song, she asserted that the next time she calls for some white boys, they better come forward! Take note male readers. You've been warned. So if you're going to need some liquid courage for an up-close-encounter with the striking Ms. Kendra Jones at the next Cold Blood Club show, plan accordingly. - Gillian Dee

Bio

Cold Blood Club, a magnetic new outfit out of Brooklyn, debuted their edgy blend of soul, rock and pop in the spring of 2011 with their debut EP Headlines & Firefights. Inspired by acts like LCD Soundsystem, Metric and New Order, songwriter/vocalist /guitarist Tom Stuart started the studio project with newcomer Kendra Jones on lead vocals and former Radio America bandmate Jesse Reno on bass. Joined by drummer Tom Cordell, flame-haired violinist Hilary Davis, percussionist Garret Vorbeck and classically trained pianist Adina Benno on synth, CBC quickly evolved into the well-matched 7-piece showstopper they are today.

They've been chewing up the New York indie scene one packed venue at a time ever since, including supporting acts like The Future Bible Heroes, The Hounds Below and Har Mar Superstar. Their first single, the dangerously catchy “White Boyz” was picked up by W Hotels as a soundtrack for behind-the-scenes coverage of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012. The Deli Magazine described Headlines & Firefights as a “fist-pumping ode to a party at the end of the world” and has quickly gained them buzz in New York since its debut. The band's music can be heard on Esquire Network's "How I Like It", "Surfing 28 States India", and the upcoming Andrew Lau / Martin Scorsese film "Revenge of The Green Dragons".
