Biography

COLD COMFORT are Rob Walsh on guitar and lead vocals, Colm Hassett on percussion, drums, Anna Doran on vocals, Joey McGowan on bass, and Eoin Mossy on lead guitar.
Last year Rob decided it was time to try something other than the usual singer/songwriter buzz. Colm liked Rob’s sound and suggested bringing Joey McGowen to the table. Anna was already adding backing vocals to Rob’s solo work, so they all met up in Hellfire Studios in October 2010 to go through some of Rob’s tracks and just kick back and jam. With everyone agreeing that the had something, they decided to take the trip.... Mossy stepped in on lead guitar early in 2011 and Cold Comfort was solid.
The Music is described as "an eclectic mix of blues, rock n’ roll and country with influences such as Neil Young, The Velvet Underground and Rory Gallagher", Cold Comfort combines a driving rhythm with Rob’s honest and no bullshit lyrics. His Songs reflect the pain and the passion of everyday madness. They tell tales of journeys and trips, soaked in emotion, devotion, but mostly commotion. Rob sings with meaning and most of all, soul. Put all of this in the mix with musicians who drive the vibe and keep the groove and you've got somethin’ that’s gonna "light up the night".

Bury Your Head

Written By: Rob Walsh

My nightmares aint as bad as this,
theres 10ft demons with crucifix.
People dancing in cold blue light,
afraid to indulge in what belongs to the night.

Awake, wipe sleep from your eyes,
it takes me some time to realise.
This rock is sinking, cast to the depths,
force fed shite with a large side of debt.

Bury your heads no more (under magazines and tv screens)
For our kids and those who fought before (their pain will it have been in vain)

Im lost in a world of distraction,
reality shows get the major reaction.
We live hard cause we feel its over,
get some kicks from the broken clover.

It feels so surreal while the drape of their movement,
drowned out the screams of the small but the decent.
A tickings still heard theres still time for the learned
to reignite flames dont be walked on.

Bury your heads no more (under magazines and tv screens)
For our kids and those who fought before (their pain will it have been in vain)

A fatal attraction to paper with powers, spells doom for the followers of the tricked and the cowards.
The subdued are deflected while the suits get elected and these towns they get sold down the river

That papers got powers dont you know (and those who have it run the show)
Now Rumpelstiltskins been and gone ( spinning lies worth more than gold)
Bury your heads no more (under magazines and tv screens)
for our kids and those who fought before (their pain will it have been in vain)
