ColdFolks Beats (born May 21, 1982) is what the industry refers to as a Super Producer. Born in Houston, TX, Cold lived between Chicago and Denver throughout his younger years. While living in the inner city, he was exposed to many negative influences and experienced his own struggle with the gang life and drugs. After seeing the path that his brother took, which lead him to a prison sentence, Cold opted to leave that life alone and focus on something positive. And he seriously started to focus on a musical career.

His musical passion began in childhood. When he was in middle school, a teacher named Miss Emily, took a vested interest in Davon and taught him how to read music, which set it off. He then taught himself how to play the piano and guitar. Colds father has always been a heavy influence in his life choices, and he took advantage of the knowledge and support that he afforded him and attended college. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from MIT and an Associate’s in Musical Engineering from Cambridge. Although he is a master of IT, music has always been his true passion.

He was associated with various labels worldwide area before the politics of the local music scene motivated him to create his own label with Up and coming Artist developer Lindsey Rosenquist and in 2011 YSG-GrammyGang Records was born. Through GGR Records, Cold was afforded some major opportunities working with a plethora of artists. A track, titled “Bananas” was produced by Cold, with Brick Squad Monopoly’s artist, Frenchie feat Bakery Brad and Sony MDE which landed on a Trapaholics Mix tape hosted by Travis Porter along with another Frenchie track, titled “Concrete Jungle.” Hosted by Dj Holiday. It doesn’t stop there, Cold is in demand! While life has thrown many choices and challenges at Davon, he has also received many blessings. Two very special blessing are his 2 beautiful boys, his pride and joy. His sons continue to be his source of inspiration. They motivate him towards success. For one to see Davon’s path and to fully understand where he has come from and the things he has accomplished, you have to be inspired. Fortunately, for us, he’s nowhere close to calling it quits, so stay tuned to see where this musical genius ends up.
