Bio

ColdSnap

The name itself means, “A severe, immediate change in the weather.”
Nothing could ring more true for this band. Originating in early 2000, ColdSnap was a melodic, post-hardcore band playing with the likes of Kittie and Adema, playing a near-headlining 2nd stage slot at The Lollapalooza Festival, winning Local MIC awards, and working the crowd into a frenzy with their heaviness and angst-ridden lyrics. ColdSnap has since evolved with a line-up change and a new, more mature, honest sound.

Their singer, Chris, explained this best during a show.

”We play honest, true-to-life music. Were out to make people think, and were out to make someone feel more than anger and angst. We’ve all been through our share of life, and we’ve done it together, and we want people to listen and connect with that.”

The four instrument players in ColdSnap have been through the last 6 years of the band together, changing ever so slightly, and forming new and beautiful music with each new change and each new day. The last, much heavier ColdSnap ended after several months of discussions and issues with their old singer. It became apparent the front-man they had worked with for 4 years was not going to agree, or be compatible with their change of direction; and began searching for a new one. After numerous auditions and writing sessions, ColdSnap found their perfect singer. Interestingly enough, Chris had been around the whole time, having known Kenny and Jim for over a decade.

After months of writing, recording, and live performances; ColdSnap is now ready to show the world their more musical side, with driving guitar lines, thumping bass, heart-felt, honest lyrics, and technically-adept drumming. The band has been a staple in the Albuquerque scene for upwards of seven years, and they’re just now ready to show the world what they’re really capable of.

Years of playing music together combined with an overwhelming drive to succeed, the members of ColdSnap have, and will continue to persevere to accomplish the goal of touching as many people as possible with their music.
