Born in California but raised on a farm in Tennessee, Howie returned to California as a teenager, signing a publishing deal with Bruno Bear Records and riding saddle broncs on the amateur rodeo circuit. He performed in many legendary bands such as Wild Country, Southern Tradition, and Young Country, eventually becoming the lead singer of Coldwater Canyon. Vaughn's melodies are fluid, memorable, and loaded with hook and hop. He puts every bit of himself into his live performances.
“Nothing makes me happier than connecting with the crowd, having them feel what I feel through my songs,” Howie says. “I put as much passion and emotion into it as possible. I want to create music that soothes, connects, and grabs people. To bond with someone on that level - there is no greater gift.”

Coldwater Canyon Band was signed and formed by CEO of Kountreeboyz Entertainment Thomas j Goodin iii and lead singer Howie Vaughn .Coldwater Canyon Band is known for their energy, their sparkling, devil's-in-the-strings performances, their onstage give-and-take, and their connection to the crowd. They take heart in what they do, stomping and roaring through song after song, inviting us in to share the fun.
Their talent lies in blending traditional country with newer influences. They take the outlaw legend and introduce it to a modern day bump, keeping a mainstream polish yet retaining a rough, back-porch edge. Country, rock, and urban influences all play a part in the Coldwater sound, blended and delivered with a passionate enthusiasm, creating a country style that's a perfect fit for today.
