I wrote these songs originally as just a pastime when I was in between bands. I wanted to be writing something, but I had nobody to play with. I never really intended them to be a serious project, but they certainly are *different* than what you'd find on popular Christian radio.
I feel that we need a long journey out of the "Typical" and step up and show a little diversity in Christian music. Sadly, the world is showing us who's boss when it comes to songwriting and I'm tired of it. We're writing songs for Almighty God and as such, our music should be the best on the planet.
Am I saying I'm one of the best songwriters on the planet? ABSOLUTELY NOT! But I just think there should be a shift in paradigm so that Christian artists will stop settling and start working...I simply want the world's artists to look at Christian artists with earned respect.
