About Colin Clyne

Hailing originally from Stonehaven, Scotland and now based in San Diego, California. Colin Clyne spends a portion of his year at sea traveling while working on ships. This time away was a major inspiration for the songs he has written to date. A selection of those songs are represented on his debut CD called 'Songs from the Cold Store'. The name is inspired from a refrigerated food store on a ship he worked on. “This was the only place I could play and sing loud without waking the night shift workers on the ship up. Imagine the cook's first impression when he came into the Store to find me wrapped up in a big jacket, note pad and guitar in hand!! Once I had played him some Beatles songs and helped him with the frozen steaks I had my practice room deal sewn up!” Having worked throughout Europe, West Africa and the Arctic Circle Colin has drawn on these experiences to write songs that reflect the moods he felt at those times as well as the feelings of isolation and loneliness that comes with working in that environment. The first two songs recorded for the EP are rockers; Tail Gunner and Pomegranite Grey. The songs were produced by Marvin Glover and recorded by British Engineer Alan Sanderson.
