Feeling a bit camera shy
Bio
Shawn Wilder and Colin Peck both live in Westfield, New York, and have been friends for quite some time. When they were young whippersnappers of 12 or so (not that 18 now is ancient mind you!), they debuted at a local pavilion named Crossroads singing some of their favorite cover tunes. If you were extremely lucky back then (LOL), you also could have seen them perform at Webb's, a nearby resort complex. From there it was on to concerts in their highschool auditorium. One time Colin dressed up like Jimmy Page (Colin's guitarist idol) and performed a Led Zeppelin set, all the while imagining he was at Madison Square Garden. (The cold fact is he was just on his highschool stage, but he did enjoy the screaming girls nonetheless and a photo of himself that Jimmy signed personally to him!) Back then, whenever Shawn and Colin were together, Shawn played drums and was the lead vocalist. He still is an accomplished drummer, but now prefers to just sing. (In fact, he recently won a vocal scholarship sponsored by SUNY Fredonia in New York.)
For a long stretch they were busy doin' their own thing, until a very sad moment in both of their lives brought them together again. A close friend of their's, Kristie Ward, died from a car accident in Modesto, California. Shawn immediately sat down and wrote a heartfelt song called "Kristie" as a tribute to her short life, and turned to Colin to play guitar, record, and mix the original version. They subsequently rerecorded it, along with 3 other demo songs, in L.A. where they were produced by M.B. Gordy, the awesome drummer/percussionist for The Doobie Brothers. Since then, Colin and Shawn have collaborated on more than enough material for their upcoming 1st cd which they want MB to produce (he's a genius!) and record in L.A. with the rest of the "Family".
Shawn has performed at various local venues for the past four years. His music tastes range from pop to country, and he has been especially inspired by Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley. His favorite rock band is Def Leppard.
Colin, who has played guitar and keyboard since he was 11, is also a prolific songwriter. One of his favorite artists is Mick Hucknall, the very gifted singer/songwriter for Simply Red. Other favorite groups of his include Led Zeppelin, The Doobie Brothers, and Yes.
