Colin Spring had released two solo albums before joining forces with The Band that Murdered Silence, a collection of Seattle area musicians. Colin and the Band have played with an array of artists including Ben Harper, The Offspring, Richard Buckner, Damien Jurado, Johnny Dowd, Stuart Davis, Jon Langsford, The Gentlemen (Chris Ballew, Duff McKagen), Shane Nicholson and Bobby Bare Jr. The songs have an intelligent, lyrical back-bone upon which the band hangs its various musical hats. Colin and the Band do not condescend to think every listener wants to digest a song's entire content on the first time through, instead their music reveals new intricacies at each repeated listen
