Colin Stewart

Colin Stewart will attempt to leave the suburban landscape of Scarborough and break the popular music scene when his band performs at Supernovas Musicfest Friday at The Playdium.

The 18-year-old songwriter and his two bandmates who make up the Colin Stewart Band, will be one of 12 acts opening for the headliner, J. Englishman, also a Toronto native.

Stewart, who plays guitar and keyboards, puts togeather intricate song arrangements that display his craft. Accompanied by Adam Borsi on bass and keyboards and drummer John Allen, the trio from SATEC at W.A. Porter Collegiate Insitute has performed at school assemblies and The Kathedral nightclub in Toronto.

Musicfest starts at 6 p.m. and admission is $20, which includes interactive video game play at the entertainment centre. To reserve tickets, call 416-264-2235

Colin Stewart at 18 yrs is a fiery, powerhouse electric guitarist performing his own compositions, all instumentals, backed by John Allen (17) on drums and Adam Borsi (18) on bass and keyboards. Colin's attention to details and timing, his improvisational abilities, innovative and electric arrangements and riveting performance were compelling.

These are all musicians starting on a creative path in life; they show remarkable passion, professionalism and scriousness in their performances. Let's all open out hearts to the youth who have something to offer to the world of Music and the Arts.
