On February 8, 2019, the Collective group released their debut album entitled "Truth Awaking", on which they placed ten unconventional and powerful compositions embedded in the progressive rock / metal trend. Although there are a lot of sounds here from outside this trend, such as references to alternative rock of the 90s, but also other non-standard solutions, broken section and guitar escapades. In spite of the remarkable technical skills of musicians, the core of Collective's work are not only their performances, but the titanic work of the rhythmical section should be praised here. Really the guitars, bass and drums are in perfect dialogue with each other. Nonetheless, Icelanders' music thrills above all with their flow and catchiness. A lot of motifs here, but also a growing mysterious climate. It is certainly music with soul and heart, which is also the vocal argument of Jónas' vocal. The guy serves us with a series of poignant and emotional vocalizations, as if it was not a very fiery and elemental material.
At "Truth Awaking" it is hard, juicy, but also ambitious and striking. Collective's musicians have a hand and an ear to create catchy and sharp heavymetal licks that crush the listener into an armchair and remarkable, thrilling melodies, as well as building intriguing progression and introducing pleasantly contrasts. Icelanders can also subdue their energetic aspirations and melt into the embrace of romantic fragments, though not for long, because "Truth Awaking" is a very characteristic material, rock'n'roll and concert material. It gives a lot of space for fun with both music and the audience, which can certainly be caught on the motifs and melodies served by the Icelandic band. Collective guarantee good rock'n'roll entertainment. It's worth listening to them!
