"Collinz Room To Perform At World Cup Event"

The award-winning Los Angeles-based Rock band, Collinz Room has been selected to play before one of the largest international crowds in the world. They are going to be playing July 4th at the "Music 4 Peace Concert and Global Summit" that is taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa during the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament, the biggest sporting event on the planet.

The World Cup is being held in Africa for the very first time so this is a particularly historic tournament and Music 4 Peace is proud to be a key sponsor of the event. 2.5 billion people are estimated to watch The World Cup on TV around the world and more than 400,000 people are expected to make it to South Africa from all corners of the globe, making this a particularly great time for this special concert.

The Music 4 Peace Concert is organized by Music 4 Peace Int. Media and Entertainment Company whose main goal is to create cultural peace communication projects in the field of music and media. Music 4 Peace was started to bring international attention to peace efforts around the world by supporting events such as the United Nation's "No Excuse Concert" in New York in 2004, attending Asia's largest World Performing Arts Festival in Pakistan, and celebrating Gandhi's 100 years of Non-violence at the Earthdance California 2006, as well as the presentation of 30 Days of Peace and The Gandhi Tour at the world's largest music industry fair MIDEM 2007 in Cannes, France. So the World Cup was an excellent opportunity to gain another global audience at an important time in the world. The attention focused on this World Cup will aid Music 4 Peace in projecting its humanitarian message and collecting donations that will be used to improve the lives of millions.

Collinz Room, a popular band in Southern California, only recently got news of their invitation to play in South Africa, but of course jumped at the chance to go over and be a part of something as big and as meaningful as this.

"We are beyond excited," said Rick Amieva, the band's lead singer and guitar player. "Are you kidding me? We're talking about the largest international audience possible. Not only is this an opportunity to reach new audiences for our music, but it is also a chance to be a part of something that is trying to make the world a better place. There is no better combination than that."

Collinz Room is made up of Amieva, Luis "Chocs" Campos, on drums, Johnny Whitton, vocals and lead guitar, and Jay Jay McNeal on bass. They have been playing together for several years now with their unique blend of Rock and Punk, and have toured in the United States to enthusiastic crowds and are regular fixtures here in Los Angeles, recently opening for Steel Panther at The House of Blues. Their current album, "Silence The Insects," was released under The Universal Music Group banner and is enjoying solid success. They are also two-time winners of The L.A. Music Awards, including the award for "Best Rock Song in a Major Motion Picture" for a song featured in the Paramount Pictures release, "Saw IV."

So the band is clearly well on the way to major success. Getting the opportunity to play in South Africa at The World Cup can only open a whole lot more doors to this special L.A. band and the four guys who came together to create music for the world to listen to. It looks like their dream has literally come true. The world will be listening on July 4th.
