Bio

Collisions have crashed onto the UK alternative scene with the self-release of their debut single ‘Once Weary Eyes’ in June 2011. Forcing together elements of Melodic Metal, Punk, Drum and Bass and Dubstep, they produce a distinctive and heavy sound that will compel you to move.

Comprising of members hailing from previously successful bands including Son of Robot, ThreeMileIsland, Iris The Fool and Dollar Sent, Collisions are a synthesised evolutionary strain of all these acts... an impaction of rapid, pulse-raising noise, crafted and layered to achieve something truly fresh. If comparisons need to be drawn, quotes of “Skindred meets Pendulum” and “Prodigy meets Arctic Monkeys” are uttered from the lips of stunned and sweaty gig goers leaving each show.

Collisions seek to blur the lines and divides between digital and analogue, combining the raw power of distorted guitars and the rigid perplexities of digital synthesisers, to create a sound that is unique. Expect ambient synthesiser breakdowns, machine gun vocals and heavy grooves that lead into melody-driven choruses that will burn themselves onto the back of you brain.

Selling out their debut show at the Hydrant in Brighton in mid 2011 Collisions have since left electricity in the air around their hometown of Brighton. With every show seeing more crowd expectation, critical acclaim and new faces through the door, the energy level of the music can only be matched by their high-octane stage performance. Word of mouth has spread fast; leading to support slots with UK Rap/Alt/D&B legends Senser and Brighton’s own rap/guitar breakthrough act Floors & Walls and several shows all over the uk.

With a new drummer on board for 2012, Collisions are stepping things up a gear - with a debut music video being edited as you read this (recorded at Black Hangar Studios with Metal Wasp Media [Acoda/Small Town Records] and Digby Milner [special effects supervisor on Harry Potter, Star Wars, Alien, The Shining and more]) and a UK tour in March, the Collisions train shows no sighn of stopping.

In a city and country seemingly over-run with copycat ‘genre’ bands, style over substance ‘also rans’ and mass produced churn-em-out’s, Collisions are indeed a breath of fresh air. Aiming to spread their name further afield and with an E.P scheduled for release in Spring 2012... Collisions are a truly new band that is set to bring something very exciting to the table.
