"Exploits Album Review"

Dublin based singer/songwriter Colm Heaney has just released a hugely impressive debut. Unlike most self-financed efforts, Heaney's long-player plays comfortably alongside any heavily marketed CD on offer these days, not least with its shiny production values. That aside, Heaney also just happens to be immensely talented. His songwriting knack is obvious. However, it is his ability to diversify within folk and contemporary rock that seems frighteningly effortless, all whilst showcasing a pitch perfect croon. The Doors rip rocker Sort Of Somewhere Else is an easy pleaser. A token anthem holler comes in the form of the ethereal country tinge Have You Ever Lost Something That You've Never Found. Great stuff - buy it.
