Bio

My name is Ryan King. I have been recording using the name Colonel Ted and the Nose Army or Colonel Ted Stevenson for some time now. I recently chose to just call it all, Nose Army. I feel that has a better ring to it. Anyways, I am from Lafayette, IN, but grew up in State Line, IN. I have been playing my own form of music since I started piano lessons around age 9 or 10. As I began to realize how to craft songs, I was heavily into Noisy Avant Garde Post Punk music, so, naturally I was recording a lot of noisy music. As my tastes have broadened into more acoustic music, I have began to incorporate that along with my more noisy moments with a pleasing result. I was in a band called Schmood from 2006-2008. We recorded a few songs but never really tried to get anything released or play to many shows. We disbanded. All the time I was in Schmood, I had been recording my own songs under the name Colonel Ted Stevenson, and Self Released my first album called, Hymen Kite. I have basically given it away to friends and family and bands I meet here in Lafayette, or musicians I meet on the road, or just anyone who would want to hear something new. I then joined a band in 2009 called Fredericks Martinez and played many shows in Lafayette, and the surrounding areas. I recently quit this band, they are still continuing without me. And now here we are. I am writing new songs everyday and recording on the same ol' piece of equipment that has been with me through all of my musicial phases thus far, and I am just awaiting the day I step into a high quality studio and get my chance to share my music with more people, and help to generate some more positivity or to just make someone else feel the same way that I do as I listen to my favorite band or singer.
