Bio

Colour-Coded are three Dundee boys (Dave, Scott and ‘Drum’ Dave) plus one Perth/Doncaster hybrid (Callum) and have been together for three years or so. The boys have broken the mould somewhat for Dundee bands in the late 2000’s, when the success of The View seemed to be shaping the sound of most local music. Colour-Coded stuck to what they do best and kept writing and playing a different type of indie rock music, based around melodic hooks and powerful vocals. The quirky guitar sounds and driving drumbeats are the trademarks of a band that, while adding to their repertoire, have never lost track of the core sound and ideas which entwined them together in the first place.

To date the band have enjoyed support slots with the likes of Northern Irish up and comers General Fiasco, One Night Only and played at last years Belladrum and Rockness Festivals in the North of Scotland with bands such as Editors.

Influences come from fellow Scots Frightened Rabbit and the more vocally driven side of Phantom Band but they also drink from the sound pool filled by the likes of Editors, Bloc Party and Snow Patrol in recent years. The band have shown speedy progression throughout their three years and with the addition of extra little quirks and noises to their already quite accomplished live performances, have become a visual spectacle as well as a treat for the ears of the indie pop lover.
