The Colour Compound
Two friends started playing guitar, singing and writing songs together
in a building compound where they’d hang out with friends. They
never thought of doing anything serious with any of the material they
had written. At the time Rohan and Bradley had just parted ways with
their previous musical endeavors, ‘Something Relevant’ and ‘Thrice
9’, respectively. After realizing that they wanted to get out there and
play live once again, they formed ‘Hollow Bodies’, an acoustic duo
that not only entertained music lovers in pubs and drinking holes but
also managed to open for ‘The Scorpions’ in Mumbai in early 2008
and at the launch of ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine.

Soon they found that they wanted to do a lot more with their music
and explore a wider variety of dynamics and textures.
Around the same time, Bradley met Aditya and Adil in a college band
competition. Due to the similarity in their musical taste, jamming
together and seeing what becomes of it seemed like a good idea. The
drum & bass duo fit together with the ‘Hollow Bodies’ almost
seamlessly and evolved into ‘The Colour Compound’. Two years
later, the band already has 2 albums worth of music, which is a blend
of Pop, Rock, Funk, Blues, R&B & everything in between. But above
all, the band simply makes honest music.

They have now released an EP called ‘Sincerely Yours’. It is the first
bit of recorded material that they’ve put out, which seemed long
overdue. Six songs that they felt displayed different aspects of their
sound and what they’re about and shared them for people to have a
taste of things to come. They plan to spread the music as far as their
lives allow them to.

“There are colours in moods, emotions and sounds, some colours we
know and some yet to be found.” - The Colour Compound
