"Inspectah Deck Spits for the Curva Crowd"

The Bangor product Comfort Food followed, and with the help of a local following they drew some life back into Curva. Also a duo, Cal Carter dropped the lines while J.O. worked the beats — or at least tried to, as a few technical difficulties from their “2,000-year-old beat machine” caused a quick lull.

After realizing a song called “All By Myself” might not be the best choice for the club, Carter turned to more uptempo songs like “Get On My Level” and “Summer Jams.”

Like North Star, Comfort Food knew very well who everyone was there to see, and often resorted to the Wu-Tang chant to get the crowd fired up. - The Maine Campus

Bio

Comfort Food originally started out as an acoustic hip-hop duo featuring multi-instrumentalist Cody Cormier and the self proclaimed "best rapper in Bangor" Cal Carter. The two met in high school but have yet to make a full length album. After graduating from Bangor High school the two went separate directions (Cody attending UNH to play D1 soccer and cal going to USM to play D3 Basketball). The group reunited in January 2011 with the addition of James Ozog aka J.O. Since then all Comfort Food has been doing is making moves. Releasing an EP in April 2011 fully produced by J.O. they're now preparing to release their first mixtape. They recently opened a show for Inspectah Deck of the Wu-tang clan and are currently setting up shows for summer 2011. Cal and James are currently heading into the studio to finish their newest mixtape and to professional record their hit single "Summer Jamz". Look for big things to come from this creative hip-hop duo.
