Biography

GIVE IT UP FOR CHRIS BENNETT

Chris Bennett’s clean “PG” rated humor, suitable for all audiences, brings the house down wherever he performs. His stand up is more like a one man play than a typical show. He uses his energy, facial expressions and material to create a funny world for the audience to enter. Chris draws upon his life experiences growing up with a very interesting family, working as an activities director in a senior citizens center and as a very young married father and college student. Chris’s dedication and focus enabled him to graduate in 4 years with a B.S. degree in Theater Arts, while working full time, before he moved to Los Angeles to embark on his professional career as an actor and comic

.
AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL PERSPECTIVE

When Chris was 10, his teacher asked him to write down three occupations that he would like to have when he got older. He wrote that he would want to be a Priest, a Doctor, or a Lawyer. At the age of 19 Chris found out he was getting married and he was going to be a father. Because of this little discovery, his dreams of being a priest were shattered. Apparently the Catholic Church has strict rules against priests being married. All through college Chris struggled to pass his science classes which pretty much ruled out the option of becoming a doctor (not to mention he couldn't stand the sight of blood). Chris also hated arguing so he knew he couldn't become a lawyer.

At the age of 22, with all his prior career choices thrown out the window, Chris graduated with B.S. degree in Theater Arts and decided that the next logical profession would be to become and actor and a stand-up comedian. Soon after starting his stand-up career in 2002, Chris was named the Funniest Person in the Valley in Tempe, Arizona. He also represented Arizona as a finalist in the 2003 Las Vegas Comedy Festival. Chris continued his comedy career and was routinely a finalist in comedy contests around Arizona. In 2005 Chris competed in and won the title of the Funniest Actor in New York at the New York Improv and in 2006 he was the winner of the 2006 Southwest Comedy Festival.

In the Spring of 2006 Chris decided to quit his job as a sales professional in Arizona and moved his family to Los Angeles to pursue his acting and comedy career full time. What is unique about Chris is that his clean, “PG” rated, performances are still unbelievably entertaining and hilarious. Audiences both young and old love Chris's high energy stage presence and enjoy watching him act out his jokes instead of just delivering standard punch-line comedy routines performed by other comedians. Chris can currently be seen performing in clubs around Los Angeles, as well as at colleges, clubs, corporate events and celebrity roasts across the U.S.
