Firing on all cylinders, Commandeers master the art of floor-rattling blasts of rock energy, with a raw sound that’s rooted in a combination of New York Dolls swagger, punks snarling spirit and dirge-paced classic-rock solos. Cars, booze, and partying. That pretty much covers it all. - http://lonelyvagabond.com/wpmu/2009/11/11/commandeers-the-horseshoe/

Bio
Commandeers are a young 4-piece band from Toronto, led by dynamic singer/guitarist Nathan Jesionka, backed his big brother Ezra on lead guitar, Scott Hannigan on bass and drummer Cale Elliott-Armstrong. Inspired by gritty glam, rock from Bowie and the New York Dolls to Iggy and the Stooges, T-Rex and the Velvet Underground (Cale was actually named after John Cale), Commandeers have taken the best of rock music from past to present and made it their own. Commandeers are a band that must be seen live to fully appreciate. Nathan, who is 65 with golden blonde hair, takes full control of the stage and the audience. After only a handful of shows, legendary concert promoter Dan Burke had already cited them as a new favorite. The band is working on their debut EP that will be released in Spring 2010.
