"Listen Here"

"Sounds like rock and roll from here." - J. Eric Smith

"Encore"

"Rock 'n' roll ain't rocket science. Basically, all you have to do is craft a catchy tune, layer on some clever lyrics and a few hot licks, and then anchor it all with a groove that makes everybody's feet want to dance all night.

It's a simple formula, but it's incredibly difficult to conjure up. However, Commander Cody and the latest incarnation of his band, the Lost Planet Airmen, whip it up as easy as falling of a bar stool." - Greg Haymes

Bio

Look in any book on the History of Rock and Roll and you’ll find Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. This 8-piece super band was Billboard Magazine’s WORLD’S BEST LIVE BAND in 1974 and 1975 and their album “Deep in the Heart of Texas” is one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s top 100 albums of all time. All told, there are almost 30 cds of Cody music out there. Cody is all over the internet with worldwide websites and fans.

In the new century, the Cody band has moved east to New York to be close to all the action. New players include Mark Emerick on guitar, Rick Mullen on Bass and Steve Barbuto on drums. These new additions are all great singers and amazing back up for Cody who is still mercilessly trying to bang his old Roland into submission. Together for 4 years, this band is out kicking butt on a nightly basis. All the famous Cody tunes are the mainstay of this very fine combo, and they are recording a new live CD with tunes not found on other albums. The boys have been playing all the usual haunts and honky-tonks and have been opening up large festivals and coliseums (with Charlie Daniels, Molly Hatchet) and headlining their own small festivals, colleges and clubs across the land.
