Bio

The gospel singing group “Committed II Praize” was born out of a larger group of Christian women “Committed Praise” who met weekly and sang gospel music at local events and places of worship. The larger group was unable to make an engagement so four members and the musician put on a full concert in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The group was well received and at the end of the concert requests for a CD were immediate. With this need to go to “the next level” the four members Onjanette Dancler, Veldia Flannigan, Creola Gary, and Debra Rembert decided to stay organized as this new group began singing as Committed II Praize in Octover 2006 under the leadership of their musician Rev. Morris Flannigan. The group felt they needed to round out their unique sound and 3-part harmony so they added two new members Harold Hansborough and Redus Voss.

In Novemeber 2006 the original 4 members went to Rockford, IL to teach and participate in a choir workshop. They were also the featured guests. While teaching at this workshop their musician wrote a new song while at rehearsal. The group wrote the verse in the wee hours of the morning and Creola Gary sang the lead on "I'm Giving It Back" which is also on their debut CD.

In December 2006 only weeks after first singing as Committed II Praize the group set out to record their debut CD release “Take the Name of Jesus”.

The members of the group are as varied as there music. Creola Gary the power house soprano is also a pianist and has played for several local churches. Debra Rembert a tenor and also a director has that “old time religion” sound. Veldia Flannigan a soprano exudes energy and has a modern flavor in her vocals. Onjanette Dancler an alto that also directs and gives a soft innocent feel in her delivery. Harold Hansborough the only male vocalist gives the group that masculine edge to execute strong traditional and contemporary songs. Redus Voss a strong alto give the group a consistent and fluid sound. Rev. Morris Flannigan the group’s sole musician wrote and arranged the majority of the music and lyrics of this debut release. He also played most of the music with the assistance of a few additional musicians.
