Common Thread

In a city that is thick with talent and chock-full of solo artists dreaming of making a name for themselves, a pair of aspiring songwriter-artists have decided to take an uncommon path by combining their exceptional talents to form Common Thread, one of Nashville’s most promising up and coming duos.

Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis have followed the well-tread path worn in by countless songwriting hopefuls from points all across the planet, and cut their teeth by playing writers’ nights at places such as the Commodore Grille and the Hotel Indigo. Now, as accomplished two-year veterans of the Nashville original music scene, the upstart duo can now be found playing the infamous Bluebird Café or the Listening Room, both venues with a reputation for attracting some of the best talent that Music City has to offer.

With a passion for music and an obvious respect for each other’s musicianship, the self-proclaimed Philly girl and Georgia boy have quickly garnered the attention of the music industry. At a recent performance for a near-capacity crowd at the Listening Room, the duo put on a spellbinding show for their growing fan base as well as a couple of music industry notables who were there to get a first-hand look at the young and continually blossoming prospects. Davis and Zimmermann's well-crafted harmonies and proficiency with their instruments kept the audience hanging on every note, and they were justly rewarded with a well-deserved and almost overzealous round of applause at the end their performance.

Common Thread will be returning to the Listening Room for an early evening performance on Wednesday, March 9th. Also on the bill are Lorna Flowers, Eddie Heinzelman, Amy Lewis and guests. Line-ups are subject to change. Contact the venue for updated show times
