Biography

Concentual is a four piece rock band hailing from Minneapolis, MN. The curious spelling of their name is defined: to possess harmony. This definition exemplifies the band's trademark sound. Concentual delivers their unique brand of rock ‘n roll with driving beats and punchy guitars, accented by clever riffs and crafty hooks. Their fine tuned melodies and harmonies soar above a rock solid rhythm section, engaging their audience with both their showmanship and polished sound.

Taking cues from rock giants like U2, Led Zeppelin, and the Foo Fighters, Concentual provides fans with not merely a show, but a rock and roll experience! Since the band's inception in early 2001, Concentual has evolved into the finely tuned line-up that it is today, and has captured the hearts and praise of many of the midwest's top venues and artists, being touted as the "next big thing" in the Twin Cities.

On "File Under: Rock 'n Roll":

In a music scene rife with blah, manufactured, and Auto-Tuned "talent", it's no surprise that music lovers are pining for something authentic. Now enter Concentual's "File Under: Rock 'N Roll," a new rock album sure to awaken and engage even the most musically-jaded rock fans. Known for fiercely adhering to their namesake's dictionary defnition ("con*cen"tu*al" meaning: "to possess harmony"), this Minneapolis-based, four-piece rock band is known and celebrated for their unique brand of rock. In addition to their polished sound and soaring harmonies, Concentual's authenticity is reinforced by a punchy, guitar-driven talent that employs clever riffs and crafty hooks, a rock-solid rhythm section that results in open car windows and cranked-up volume, and a driving beat that makes wallflowers want to dance!

In the fall of 2011, Concentual teamed up with renowned Minneapolis rock producer, James Harley of World Record Productions (Prince, Quietdrive, New Medicine, Dave Pirner & Lucinda Williams) to record "File Under: Rock 'N Roll". In this process, the band and Harley had one goal: to embody and celebrate the best elements, sounds and influences of the past thirty years of rock and roll. Mission accomplished. "File Under: Rock 'N Roll" is a successful culmination of that goal, as well as the inspiration and hard work that helped attain it. "File Under: Rock 'N Roll" proves that the rock genre is still alive, can still be authentic and is undoubtedly here to stay!

Sister

Written By: Concentual (Lyrics by L. Michelutti)

God I’m thirsty, whats with this?
She don’t give me water.
Leaves me thirsty for a kiss...
Leaves me wanting, waiting, needing it all
Ad she gives me none.
Not one motivation for a chance at love some how...
And she makes me feel like...

Nothing... nothing... nothing...
Then something comes along.

What’s a man got to say or do?
Where’s the motivation?
Keep my interest up in you...
Gotta keep up the relations.
And you’ll find that I’m by your side...
Morning noon and night time.
Yet instead you leave me all alone...
Dog without a bone and...

She got a sister, she knows who i am
I see her look my way.
She got a sister - she could be her friend
I think she feels the same!

She feels the same - feels the same!

She arrives and we make some time...
For some conversation.
We break out the bread and wine...
As each moment passes.
Slowly she moves even closer yet...
And she kindly whispers...
Take me... take me... take me before she makes it home -

She got a sister, she knows who i am
I see her look my way.
She got a sister - she could be her friend
I think she feels the same!

She feels the same - feels the same!

Home

Written By: Concentual (Lyrics by L. Michelutti)

Faded… just like the sun
A picture’s in place, it’s stained on the wall....
You invite me in...

Thoughts behind your smile, are written on your face
Think I should stay a while...

Don’t feel like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home...

Dead before you came along, you gave me strength to help me carry on.
Lights were shadows once remained.
You showered us with sunshine in the rain
We talk through the night...

Thoughts behind your smile, are written on your face
Think I should stay a while...

Don’t seem like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home.
Don’t seem like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home.

Thoughts behind your smile, are written on your face
Think I should stay a while...

Don’t seem like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home.
Don’t seem like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home.
Don’t seem like much from this place where I stand
But it sure would be quite nice to call home.

The King

Written By: Concentual (Lyrics by L. Michelutti)

Dyed my hair jet black, grew my sideburns out and everything.
Bought me some blue suede shoes and a silver horseshoe pinky ring.
Shakin’ my hips my upper lip took all this time just to get it right.
Oversized aviator glasses even in darkest night...

You take too much time gettin’ ready.
No time brother you’re gettin’ heavy.
Years have…gone by now…since he went an’ left the scene!
Hey now! Don’t confuse that big fat man with the King…no!!

Cruisin’ around the town – just bought a used pink Cadillac...
Once you have gone this far you know there is no turning back!

You take too much time gettin’ ready
No time brother you’re gettin’ heavy
Years have gone by now since he went an’ left the scene
Hey now! Don’t confuse that big fat man with the King…

You take too much time gettin’ ready…
Hey now! Don’t confuse that big fat man with the King…
Hey now! Don’t confuse that big fat man with the King…
Hey now! Don’t confuse that big fat man with the King…
