Bio

Conceptual Elements has been hailed by fans and critics as an intelligent return to old school hip-hop with a contemporary angst. Blending socially conscious lyricism, abstract poetics and unorthodox wordplay with music that ranges from jazzy and soulful to gritty and hard-hitting the Conceptual Elements sound is lyrically cognizant and musically dynamic.

Conceptual Elements have been developing their own unique sound and core fan base for several years. Members of Conceptual Elements had already been recording tracks in The Meditation Chamber recording studio for over a decade and in 2005 the group came together and began writing material for their first full length release titled “Conceptual Elements” which was released in the winter of 2006. The group hit the Long Island club scene to support the new album with a live show which embodied a musical intensity and poetic intelligence that garnered them a reputation of being one of the best underground groups on the east coast. Their reputation has led to performances with KRS ONE, Slick Rick, Naughty By Nature, Last Emperor, C-Chan, Rakim, and other legends of the hip hop community.

Conceptual Elements are regular invited guests on DJ Cut Supreme’s Trim Mix Party (90.1 FM). Their songs have found regular rotation on TMP programming and have secured many slots on TMP’s acclaimed top 15 countdown. Conceptual Elements music has also found regular rotation on The House Of M radio show (90.1FM) and Village Music Shoppe (web radio). After touring extensively throughout 2007 and 2008 in support of the “Conceptual Elements” album the group headed into back into The Meditation Chamber and The Monastery recording studios in the winter of 2008 to record their sophomore full length release titled “Sage Club”.

In addition to producing cutting edge music Conceptual Elements is also interested in providing platforms for local artists and musicians to come together and voice their art. Under the NewMuse Productions umbrella Conceptual Elements has created two distinct events known respectively as MoMentuM and Genre Clash. These events usually revolve around displayed art, live art, comedy, performance art, belly dancing, magic, and live music spanning the gamut of musical genres. Most recently NewMuse and Conceptual Elements held the latest installment of GenreClash at The Nutty Irishman in Bay Shore , NY. This event attracted over 500 fans and featured 11 hours of live music from all walks of life, an upstairs room with over 10 drum & bass DJ’s, art displayed by over 20 artists and an outside graffiti deck where dozens of local graffiti legends showed up to display their talent.

In spring of 2010 Conceptual Elements released their long awaited Sage Club EP and have embarked on a number of events to promote the album.
