Artist: Conceptus
Song: “Which Way” (from myspace.com/conceptus)
Heard by: Lorenzo Ochoa, North Park
It reminded me of the Mamas and the Papas. It seems influenced or inspired by them. It has a soft melody to it. The guitar kind of reminds me of Weezer. Overall, I felt relaxed. I liked the way the guitar overpowers the lyrics. The lyrics are mysterious and a little bit soothing. I think it does have commercial potential but only because of the guitar. It really stands out. The vocals were a little bit underplayed. I’d give that song a 7.5 out of 10. - San Diego Reader

Bio
Chris Holmz began recording songs under the moniker Conceptus back in 2005 in Los Angeles. Inspired by the likes of The Clean, Pavement, Ween, The Fall, and The Byrds he began recording lo fi style with the intention of fleshing them out with a band. After relocating to San Diego he assembled the current lineup, which has been together for over a year. In that time they have gigged around Southern California extensively and begun recording for a forthcoming EP.
Live, Conceptus plays loud and loose, with one foot in sugary melody and another in angular riffage. An audience member at a recent show described us as "60s pop combined with 90s indie rock, done in a modern way." That's as apt a description of our as we could come with.
