Confess

Clean-cut and usually dressed for business, a leader in his church, and a tried-and-true family man dedicated to his wife, Lorena, and son Jezriel, Perseus Gross (Confess) is a moving portrait of God’s noble work – a shining manifestation of what it means to live out the word of God. However, one would be mistaken to presuppose that he has taken an obvious route to his current disposition. No, Confess did not grow up the son of a Pastor, attending Sunday school, and singing in the church choir. In fact, he didn’t even grow up in a way that can be described beyond ,“a little bit here and a little bit there.” Upon hearing how far he’s come from a life full of regrettable indiscretions, many of today’s youth may find solace and inspiration in his story and his music.
This rising artist has roots in Allentown and Reading, Pennsylvania. Growing up with his father in and out of the picture, Confess was able to find fortitude in female family figureheads and his grandfather. Though they had little, his mother and grandmother took on the challenge of raising Confess, his brother, Osiris, and sister LaKeasha making sure that the children wanted for nothing.
Unfortunately, Confess and his siblings could not be shielded from every evil that exists in the world. At a very young age, while lying in the bed right next to her, he witnessed a sexual assault against his sister. Perseus watched the deplorable act committed against his loved one, and was rendered powerless. That dreadful night and feeling of incapacity has been tattooed in his memory ever since. In fact, it has remained the force behind much of his music.
Confess has loved music since birth, and has been blessed with the ability to not only perform the earth-shaking, soul-stirring contemporary Christian genre of rap/Hip-hop he has found his niche in, but also to write his own songs.

Many of his songs are geared toward young ladies. He hopes to inspire and uplift them by promoting independence, personal development, and self-esteem. However, Confess also has plenty to share with the fellas. As a young person that has experienced his fair share of the drug-dealing, gang-banging, substance abusing life, he can relate to a lot of young people, particularly those in an urban environment where poverty and violence runs all too rampant.
A true renaissance man in his own right, Confess brings something different to the world of music. Whether the lyrics to a song are derived from current pious or past wayward experiences, the music of this well-rounded young man is sure to strike a chord with any type of audience
