"Release by Pedro Sá (Caetano Veloso musical director and musician of Caetano's band)"

Do Amor is a band partially known by many people. Marcelo and Ricardo, from Banda Cê, follow Caetano Veloso since 2007. Gabriel Bubu played bass in Los Hermanos band.
All of them have been playing frequently in the Brazilian alternative musical scene, following artists such as Nina Becker, Jonas Sá, Rubinho Jacobina and Lucas Santana, among many others.

They had already proved how incredible they are and, just for this reason, the launching brings a kind of expectation, since it is an authorship work of these great musicians. However, I must say that this first album exceeds any positive prediction. There's a richness, a creative exuberance rarely seen in a musical band. It's a work full of references from the most distinct and assorted styles, which are purified in unusual and amusing forms. But we're not talking about free references. They go from Carimbó (a Brazilian rhythm) to Manchester Rock with an extreme naturalness ... and with a great truth, too. It's not a superficial mixture, but assorted universes that take us to infinite places, ages and worlds, united in an absolutely authorship work.

There is a lot of sarcasm and humor here. I want to say that they are not only virtuous musicians carrying out an exceptional performance. There's no coldness or arrogance. They play music itself, in its most genuine meaning. They disconstruct all these styles and, at the end, give it back in... music! I strongly believe this album is a real declaration of love to the music itself. As a matter of fact, it is a confessed and living love. Each phrase, each style, each note is enjoyed and well made. But always with lightness, as if they were going to take a juice at the corner, a maté tea at the beach. There's a healthy smell of the sea, despite it's an album worked with care and well done.

Chico Neves signs this excellent production. Chico has the ability to make great records. He is the real Master Jedi of the studios. He took out all the best from the band, which is revealed in every moment. It's a great pleasure to listen to Do Amor.

Finally, this album is already a classical. To listen, listen again and enjoy forever!
