In a genre that often favors new bands with a new gimmick, style and substance are hard to come by. Orange County natives, Connelly are builiding a reputation of pursuing the latter with their debut EP, The Inevitable Truth. Pieced together from former bands and projects, Ryan Blincoe (keys and synth), Jason Pagano (bass), Matt Border (guitar), Shea D'Amore (drums & vocals), Mark Milward (guitar) and Tyler Burman (vocals) have musical backgrounds varying from electronic to hardcore. After locking themselves in a rehearsal studio for a year, they went on to record with renowned producer, Paul Miner (Death by Stereo, Thrice, Atreyu). Due to circumstances beyond their control, the band was forced to replace their original frontman thus proving their resiliency in what is often, a turbulent industry. Burman made a fitting replacement, only increasing the intensity of their live performances. Connelly celebrated the one year anniversary of The Inevitable Truth this February and gained touring experience in fall 2009 with a mini-tour in the Southwest. With a growing following in Southern California, the sextet has developed an impressive live show. Burman's intensity on stage has pulled audiences from back of venues to the foot of the stage while D'Amore's anthemic vocals have cut through the most jaded opinions of critics. The band has honed their setlist to an often seamless transitions between songs, never letting the show slow down. With plans to tour in spring of 2010 and another release this summer, Connelly is a name to know in 2010.
