"Discovery Music Scotland Gig Review 16/11/2018"

This was our first ever live music review and needless to say we were delighted by it!

I was taken aback by the pure volume coming from Connor Clark and The Matador Kings. No doubt these guys were the loudest and most stimulating band of the night, raising the energy with pulsating rock music. The band has just released their newest single, “Echoes and Patience” which we had the pleasure of listening to live, as well as other great songs that influenced their strong rock style. With a prominent guitar and strong melody, Connor Clark and The Matador Kings were great to get the room moving.

Bio

Connor Clark And The Matador Kings are a band from Aberdeen, Scotland. They started out in 2017 going through numerous members they finally found their solid line-up. Consisting of 4 members Connor Clark: Singer/Songwriter, Rhythm Guitarist, Ray Evans: Bassist, Euan Hall: Drummer and Dylan Craig Thomson-Evans: Lead Guitarist, Backing Vocals

Since then they have played several gigs across Aberdeen, completed their first ever tour around Scotland playing in Stirling, Glasgow and Aberdeen. They played a show with This Feeling in late 2018 In November 2018 they brought out their first single "Echoes And Patience" and released their second single "Stand Alone" in March 2019 which was reviewed and described as "hard not to love" and "rocking yet a little funky.” Since the release of Stand Alone it has been featured on Aberdeen’s local radio stations and even played at Aberdeen’s football stadium at half time.

In May 2019 they embarked on their first Scottish Tour playing in cities such as Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh in a bid to try and expand and build an audience from around Scotland. At the end of May 2019 they supported the Scottish band Vida which gave them an audience like they've never seen before. The dance floor was filled and jumping throughout the whole set.

Moving on to July 2019 the band released their single "Once A Pretty Liar" which saw streams soar within its first 24 hours and seeing streams reach over 2,000 in its first week it was added the the "New Punk Tracks" Spotify playlist. A song with a hard edge and a gripping chorus it gives the listeners a sense of adrenaline.
