""My Truth EP" review"

"With a plaintive voice, a forlorn guitar and a lonely piano this four-song EP sets a nicely pensive atmosphere, so Furlong could well gather his own faithful."
(Kevin Courtney, The Irish Times) - The Irish Times

""My Truth EP" review"

"Conor Furlong is back with some new songs. My Truth has touches of Neil Young in the melody and a catchy hook line too. Take Back is more laidback and takes longer to build up a head of steam but justifies the effort. If These Are The Last Words That I Write is an introspective love ballad that has a lot of charm and a promising title. Furlong's work has a depth and quality that suggests he needs to move on to make records instead of demos."
(Jackie Hayden, Hot Press) - Hot Press

""My Submarine EP" review"

"With an encyclopedic range of influences, not least Brian Wilson, his 'My Submarine' swirls and stretches your ears in all directions, a veritable smorgasbord of sonic delights. 'My Home By The Sea' is a Wilson-esque ballad that evokes the sea and it's quite superb."
(Jackie Hayden, Hot Press) - Hot Press

"Gig Review"

"Conor is an alt.rock style Dublin-based singer-songwriter with dreamy folk, lush harmonies and electronic backing. His tunes are a beatific blend of sunny harmonies and lazy electronica with a psychedelic twist."
- Metro

""Mountains, Rivers, Stars EP" review"

"Nice mellow pop affair sounding at times like the meeting of The Beach Boys, Air and a bit of Mercury Rev... mellow acoustic folk sound with some nice electronic and piano background sounds."
(Dave Kennedy, Road Records) - www.roadrecs.com

""Eternal" review"

"Eternal features a lovely lush collection of electronic ballads and very laid back hazy electronic pop sounds. It's almost like Air or Lali Puna on a totally laid back late night buzz. Features some delicate electronic beats, washes of synth and electric piano coupled with Furlong's hushed vocal delivery. Really lovely soothing stuff."
(Dave Kennedy, Road Records) - www.roadrecs.com

""Peace of Mind" review"

"Here's a real Dublin DIY phenomenon: Conor writes, records and plays all his own music, releases it via his own website, then rings the journo up to make sure he got his CD-R copy. "Peace of Mind" is a lovely, sad piano-painted tune, as is the B-side (titled "B Side"), so we'll be looking forward to his call."
(Kevin Courtney, The Irish Times) - The Irish Times

""Peace of Mind" review"

"Conor Furlong's gorgeous mixture of lush orchestration, tender vocals and sombre piano make "Peace of Mind" a pleasure. Conor's music should be sentimental dreck but, in a similar fashion to Deserter's Songs-era Mercury Rev, his gift for haunting melody transcends any unwanted tendencies towards bombast or melodrama."
(Killian Murphy, Hot Press) - Hot Press

""Eternal" review"

"It's fitting that the opening phrase of "Eternal", Dublin electronic artist Conor Furlong's self-released debut, should bear the words "Brian Wilson", for the influence of the troubled son of a Beach is all over Furlong's sonic hello. That opener, entitled "Love/Like", is an unashamed tribute to Wilson, both lyrically and musically, as a spacey, classically-inspired synth melody meshes wonderfully with Furlong's violining vocals. It's as if Wilson circa 1966 had hijacked a Nobuo Uematsu soundtrack. The result is predictably awesome.

The two tracks that follow, "Your Guy" and "I'm In Love With Girls Aloud", are similar in style. The latter, while maybe not quite as affectionate, is at least sincere, a rare feat in this age where ironic Justin Timberlake covers are the norm and Rick Astley is a mere internet meme.

"Eternal" is one of the understated pop gems of the year."
(Dave Donnelly, State Magazine) - State Magazine
