Bio

Consonance is an energetic gospel group that is known for its tight harmonies and crowd-pleasing performances. The group members are Rev. Melvin Williams, Rev. Sam Cox, Mack Williams, Paul Foster, Jr. and Bobby Reed. All of the members have performed in secular groups, but their union in this gospel group is very special.

The group has released two cd's. Their first project was entitled, "See The Light". This compilation of mostly original songs was R&B laiden with impeccable vocal performances. The project was high energy and a pleasant departure from the traditional male gospel quartet sound.

The second cd was released in April of 2011. "Message Of Hope" features a variety of sentillating performances by the group. If you think this group is a passing fancy, you need to listen closely to this cd. The project features songs by written by Stanford McClelland, Jr., Fred Jackson and McKinley "Mack" Williams. These three writers are different in their approaches, but their songs blend like ingredients in a good gumbo!! Ummmmm good!!

Consonance's performace on this cd takes you through a musical journey that is full of praise and skillful vocals. Each member of the group takes a turn as the lead singer on the tracks. You will be blessed when you hear Bobby Reed's soulful Temptation-styled rendition of "Wonderful". Mack Williams follows with his hypnotic interpretation of "I'm Just a Disciple of Jesus".

Paul, Jr., the son of the legendary Paul Foster of the Soul Stirrers, gives you his stylish lead singing on "That Old Ship of Zion", "The Greatest Love Story", "Without Him (There's No Hope)". Rev. Sam Cox, an ordained minister, powers you through his heartfelt performance on the funky track "I Don't Wanna Miss Church". And Rev. Melvin Williams, also an ordained minister, offers you his melodic baritone voice with his lead vocal on "Pray For Me".

All and all you will find this cd to be a masterful set of songs by a very professonal and seasoned group of singers. I am sure you will enjoy this project. You have to have this cd. And make sure you see Consonance whenever they appear at a venue new you. After hearing them, you will in awe of this fabulous group.
