"Interview with Conspiracion Urbana"

Q. How did the project come into existence?

The band started On January 2008 with the idea of Psycho Monkey and Mad who wanted to make a serious and solid project and gradually became integrated the other members, Merrick, Majo and T-800 in that order.

Q.Who are the members of the band if any and please tell us about it?

The band's current lineup consists of: Psycho Monkey - Vocals & guitar, Mad - Guitar & Backing Vocals, Majo - Bass, Merrick - Keyboard and T-800 - Drums.

Q How would you describe your sound/genre?

It´s difficult to describe what we do but we could consider our music as Metal-Industrial & Alternative with a Gothic touch.

Q. What formal training or previous experience do any of the members have?

Some band members are self taught and others have learned from the same band members so we can say that basically all we´ve learned has been by ourselves.

Q. Are you working w/ a producer on your upcoming album?

We are currently working on material that will be our first LP which we intend to carry about 12 or 13 songs, once ready to go forward immediately to record it and we estimate that may be at year's end.

Q. Who would you say has been the biggest influence on the bands sound or that you have used as inspiration for your music?

The bands which have marked our musical influences are: Rammstein, Deathstars, Static-X, Dir en Grey, The Birthday Massacre, Deftones, System of a Down, Tool, A Perfect Circle, to name a few .

Q.What advice would you give to others starting out?

Our advice is to always be persistent in what they want and never give up so they can achieve their dreams, put it very hard to make music and always looking to improve and learn from other more experienced musicians, it´s important

Q. Where can people go to learn more about you and hear your music?

You can visit us on and

Q. If you could play anywhere in the world or with anyone you wanted where and who would it be with?

Anywhere in the world would be fine, simply leave the country for us would be very significant and we definitely would love to someday share the stage with a band like Deftones, Static-X or Dir en Grey. Would be a great honor for us.

Q. What has been your greatest experience so far either individually or as a whole?

From time to develop our first EP called "Discordia" which means for us a major step in our musical career in addition to good acceptance that we have in all places where we performance and also one of the best things is to tread on large stages and share it with bands from our country of great national and international recognition, these are our greatest experiences so far.

Q. Do you have any upcoming events or news you would like to tell our readers about?

At the moment, as we´d mentioned we´re working on what will be our next LP and in November we´ll be participating in a festival called "Rockeando" which brings together the best bands in the independent music scene of our country and this festival is held every year in our state, Michoacan.

Q. Where do you see yourselves or hope to be in about 5 years?

We hope with several recorded albums and touring the world with our music, which is precisely what we choose to be musicians, to present our music wherever we can get.

"Vents Magazine Interview"

*What's the meaning behind the band's name?
Well, basically we chose the name because we wanted something easy to remember and at the same time a name wich would represent a huge strength, in addition to sound right up street guide, so we chose the name of Conspiracion Urbana which means “Urban Conspiracy”… Sounds huge, dark and powerful

Dear Mauricio,

Thanks for submitting the material for the evaluation.

The songs, vocals, musicianship and production are all outstanding. I am very impressed.

The group also has a cool and marketable image. The photography is also well done.

To give you insight to the scoring scale above, the majority
of artists score in the 2.5 to 3.5 range in the various categories.

Whenever an artist sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop.

When an artist sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, it's a validation from a professional, confirming that the songs are of the highest level and show strong potential in the ultra-competitive music industry.

To really raise the bar, every artist should work hard to earn a 4.5 or 5 in every category.

It's a very competitive business and people averaging in the 3's (or less) will probably not get too far without a great deal of improvement and development.

I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done!

One thing to keep in mind, at least for your songs designated as "Singles" (the songs geared towards winning over radio stations, record company executives and music publishers) - try to keep Intros under 10 seconds and try to reach the Chorus between the 40 and 43 second mark. This is very important in the following genres: pop, rock,
alternative, punk and singer/songwriter

If it's 44 seconds or longer into a song and the Chorus did not kick in yet, you should edit the arrangement accordingly.

In rap music, the chorus can come in at the 55 to 59 second mark, since the verses are traditionally longer,
compared to the other genres of popular music.

Radio, Record Company and Music Publishing executives pay close attention to song arrangement, as they decide if an artist is developed enough for them to show interest. - Foley Entertainment, Inc.
