"Friday, October 26, 2007"

Singer songwriter Consuelo with a collection of six, piano-led songs are anadorned and uncomplicated but commanding and touch on her classical background, as well as her love of pop and melodic rock, glossed with her strong Italian accent, which sounds particularly pronunced on tracks I Tond You That I Love You and Keep It 4 Yourself. Bittersweet makes for imaginative and atmospheric listening. - Bournemouth Daily Echo, Sarah Cartlidge

"December 2006"

From Milan to Manchester to Penzance, singer/songwriter CONSUELO Scivoletto has pursued her musical ambitions with admirable determination. The Bittersweet EP is her first endeavour into the public domain, showcasing six stark yet effective, piano-driven songs of melancholy and hope steeped in classical, folk and pop leanings. The likes of Keep It 4 Yourself reveal a rich, textured voice with echoes of female luminaries such as Liz Fraser, Dolores O'Riordan and Alanis Morissette, but it's Consuelo's strong Italian accent that lends a unique flavour and power to the songs. It seems as if all the hard work and travelling is paying off. Kudos to you. BB - www.247mag.co.uk

Bio

Consuelo started out as a classical pianist in Milan where she was borne.
Having always loved pop (ular) music, she joined the Sultans of Swing, a Dire Strait's tribute band and later formed the Take That tribute girl group The Sweetbeat. With the latter she joined Manchester boy band Take That in Monte Carlo on promotion where they had a one-off session filmed by Andy Peters for his programme The Ozone, which was featured in the Official Take That magazine.

Consuelo's determination to become an established musician/composer and her interests in production led her to move to Manchester in 1995, where she graduated in BA (Hons) Popular Music & Recording at Salford University, Greater Manchester, specialising in composition.

Her influences go from: Chopin, Debussy & Lizt to film music, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Supertramp, Madonna, Britney Spears (The Matrix and The Neptunes), Joni Mitchel, Tori Amos, Air, Bjork, Martha & Rufus Wainwright, Vanessa Carlton, Keane, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morissette, and many more...all for different reasons going from piano style of playing, to harmony, song structure and arrangement, vocal style and production.

Consuelos focus is now the realisation of her debut album as a singer-songwriter. She moved to Cornwall January 2006 to concentrate on this project, away from distractions, and recorded an acoustic EP "Bittersweet.

What sets Consuelo apart from other bands is her piano touch, which can be ever so delicate and minimalist, or dramatic and complicated, coupled with her cheeky Italian accent, to make up for a dynamic and quirky performance.
Consuelo has been gigging in the Bournemouth area with Solid Air for the past 4 months. She will be busy recording for the next few months, and hopes to start gigging again from Summer 2008.
