"IN YOUR TIME OF CRISIS, CALL MR SWAGGER"

Crisis Mr. Swagger is more than just your typical Perth City man. He is a Pro-Pre-Established, Multi-Award winning Hip-Hop artist, re-introducing himself to a new audience since settling in Australia 14 months ago.

Born, Chisenga G. Katongo in Lusaka, Zambia, he was the first artist to release a Hip-Hop album in his birth country, Zambia in January 2005.

Currently working on a new album and constantly performing in Perth, he is looking to get onto major stages such as The Perth Arena and expanding further out, on a mission to represent a new phase in Australian Hip-Hop. His Afro-English/American accent has helped him stand out as an artist.

In 2010, he was one of four African artists hired by MTV Base to perform at a World Cup event in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He has performed in Atlanta, Hollywood, London, Zimbabwe, Malawi etc., released four albums and shared the stage with names including; Akon, Sean Paul, E-40 and many others. The biggest audience he has performed for is a roaring crowd of 48,000 people, at the Harare Sports Stadium.

The South By South West is like a graduation to any independent artist. The rapper would like to play here and build his US and global fan base.

This will be the first time that the rapper plays the event and, he feels as though he has been preparing for this day his whole career. - Jammerzine

"It’s a W.R.a.P. A Small Business Expo with a Difference"

Continuing with the theme that business is not only about commercial gain, the expo was treated to a live, impromptu performance from Rapper/Producer/Director, Crisis Mr Swagger. Originally from Zambia, Mr Swagger entertained with a WRaP (Words, Rhyme and Poetry) that he has written about the business expo. He then delivered a heart-felt performance about his journey from his roots, that were measured in hardship and survival. For the normally conservative business people in attendance it was captivating and “educational”. - See more at: http://www.digitalsence.com/western-australia/its-a-w-r-a-p-a-small-business-expo-with-a-difference/#sthash.Lbl687S5.dpuf - David Udy

"92.9 makes Music Video of Suburban Song Read more at: http://www.radioinfo.com.au/news/929-makes-music-video-suburban-song © Radioinfo.com.au"

(L-R) Baz, Lisa and Paul
Now in its second year, Lisa Paul and Baz’sSuburban Songs have proven so popular that they’ve taken it to the next level by turning one of them into a music video.

Over the past weeks, listeners were invited email the station with their choice of song and write new lyrics about their suburb. It was one about ‘Morley’ written and produced by a local Perth rapper, Crisis Mr Swagger that changed everything.

“Crisis Mr Swagger deserved more than just a spin on the radio. His Morley Suburban Song had to be made into a video clip,” said breakfast announcer, Paul Hogan.

“When people think music video they’ve thought LA, they’ve thought Miami. Now they think Morley!”

With the support of the Morley community, Crisis Mr Swagger and the 92.9 listeners we were able to turn a catchy rap tune into a music
video.

A thrilled Mr Swagger said, “Thank you to the 92.9 breakfast team for this great initiative... every musician wants the world to hear their music. Lisa, Paul and Baz have done a great job for me in that area.”

A good bunch of 92.9 advertisers also happened to be featured in the video. - Radio Info.

"Crisis Mr. Swagger - Soul Train Review"

I never thought I’d see it: technically flawless east coast (of America) style hip hop made by a Perth MC. That MC is Zambian-born, Perth-based C.R.I.$.I.$ Mr Swagger. The man raps like he was born doing it and this six-track EP features production so sharp you could cut yourself. Jesus Christ. I had to listen to Soultrain three times because I couldn’t even believe it. The metaphors are complex, Swagger’s samples are fearlessly independent of each other, there is little imitation and almost no repetition or recycling. Back To The Future, track one, is a stand-out in particular.
