New to the Athens Music scene is four piece alternative rock outfit, Convince The Kid. Original members Trevor Thrift (Vocals/ Synth), Matthew Brantley (Bass), and Jacob McCannon (Drums) first started playing music together in their high-school drumline. After following each other to UGA and meeting Jeffrey Vernon (Guitar) Convince The Kid was born. The band pulls heavy influence from fellow alt-rock bands like The Killers and Young The Giant, while still channeling 70’s classic rock energy. Convince The Kid brings a simple message; don’t let the kid inside die. The power of a kid to see the future as nothing less than wide open can dim as time goes by, but Convince The Kid turns back the clock a few years.
