Cook County String Band - 100 Years Behind the Times
Cook County String Band is a high energy group, bringing old time traditional music to new audiences in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. Cook County String Band started playing together in Cook County, Illinois as members of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. A relatively young group to this style of music, Cook County String Band plays traditional old-time tunes from Appalachia, the bread basket, new influences such as Old Crow Medicine Show, and some original tunes seeped in the same tradition. Cook County String Band plays a lively set that introduces this style of music to new audiences, in a fun and accessible manner.
