David Lindquist writes, "Chris (Coolidge) emerges as a personable, pop-minded songwriter/vocalist…a deft master of agreeable melodies and just-right storytelling." - The Indianapolis Star
Reviewing a show, Troy Michael added, "Coolidge (and band-mates) showed a strong stage presence as they launched their fiery and upbeat songs to admirers in flawless manner." - Innocent Words (Champaign, IL)
The debut from this up and coming Indianapolis rocker is full of melody and energy, evident in this track. With influences from the past 3 decades, "O.K." sparkles with a sound similar to what would happen if Rick Springfield joined Foo Fighters. "Center of the Universe" is a very worthy debut CD from somebody that has a passion for making quality rock and roll. - PopBang.com
"Imagine Foo Fighters combined with Squeeze, Tommy Keene and Matthew Sweet. Odd combos? Not really---it`s just that Coolidge rocks hard on a few songs here and when he does, they are driven by power packed melody. When it tones down, the pop craft of the aforementioned pop artists shines. The songs range from mellow to rock-out, but does not abrubtly switch and throw the mood.
Very Highly Recommended!" - Not Lame Records
"Chris Coolidge's voice ranges from cool smoothness to pop edged, spilling lyrics over a foundation of guitar and percussion-riddled rock. Smart lyrics delivered with a punch complement the rockingness of the sound; when the guitars throw down fast chords, the vocals give them words." - Indiana University Daily Student

Bio
Indianapolis-based rock band Coolidge delivers high-energy and original pop/rock. Imagine the upbeat, reggae-influenced sound of The Police and The Clash meets the power-pop/rock of Cheap Trick and Green Day and add a dynamic horn section. There, you would find something like Coolidge!
Born from the ska/punk ashes of national touring act Johnny Socko, Coolidge began as a power trio in the early ‘00’s, with Chris Smail on guitar, Matt Beaumont on drums and Matt Wilson on bass. Five years ago, former Johnny Socko members Charlie Krone, and Josh Silbert joined providing trombone, and saxophone, respectively. These long-time friends and bandmates have well over 2,000 fun and exciting shows under their collective belts.
All three Coolidge albums draw from a wide range of rock influences, yet present a focused, aggressive, and highly addictive musical offering. “Center of the Universe” (2004) and “Pop Star Baby” (2008) were released on Triple R Records. "The 5 Best Songs in the World, Vol. 1", for which Coolidge won the 2014 Punk Rock Night Music Award for Best Local Release, makes broad use of the reunited horns.
“Smail and company sound brilliant on these five songs with that signature ‘horn rock’ they are known for. It is good time rock & roll which is not only clever but intelligent” – InnocentWords.com
Beyond periodic appearances in Midwest rock venues, opening slots for national touring acts, and private parties, some recent Coolidge appearances include: Warmfest, Independent Music & Arts Festival, Indiana State Fair, Hendricks County ArtsGo!, Linton Music Festival, Tonic Ball, Flat 12 Bierwerks Anniversary, Cottage Home Block Party, and Three Rivers Festival.
All attendees were entertained, tapped their feet, and smiled a lot!
