Some people wear their hearts on their sleeve, he prefers to wear his hanging from a chain around his neck. Los Angeles bred rapper (Lite) Coolroy – born Dominik Charles Franklin- is making a name for himself on the streets of LA and all over the west coast. Drawing inspiration from his life experiences, love and heart break, Coolroy brings a fresh voice to west coast hip hop with his down to earth and at times humorous music.

At the young age of 17, Coolroy dropped his first solo project, “So Soulful”. With songs like “Cool Like That” and the title track, "So Soulful", the album is more easy-going and light-hearted than his following album, "Out to Lunch", launched in 2009. "Out to Lunch" carries more serious undertones with songs like “Golden” and " Sunshine". This tape features production from Roosevelt, RC, Alpha MC, Iman Omari, and Flying Lotus.

Now at age 22, Coolroy has embarked on a new chapter of his musical career with his latest project,"Charlie". You can hear his growth and ability to bridge sounds from his musical roots to lead him to his sounds in the future. Coolroy attempts to completes the sounds spectrum with songs like; rock inspired "Same Road", "Poison" featuring R&B songstress Jhene Aiko, yet stays true to his roots with"Time of My Life" produced by Roosevelt.
