Cool Sound Recordings

Cool Sound Recordings is an independent music label from Kent setup in 2009. It aims to write, produce and generate new music which will be appealing to the masses. The label specialises in writing hip hop, pop, dubstep and grime music however always with a commercial edge to make it popular to the average radio listener. Over the past two years, the label has ‘signed’ three artists. These are ‘Trademark’, ‘Lee Willz’, and ‘Danny Who’. As well as these three official signings, the label has worked with many other acts including artists from outside the UK.
As well as the production element of the label, it regularly hosts and plays in gigs around the South East. Sell out gigs have been held at the prestigious Tunbridge Wells Forum (hosted Green Day, U2 and Lost Prophets in the past). Cool Sound Recordings also has a live band. This has given them greater flexibility with regards to being able to perform with or without them and as well as acoustically in smaller venues. Furthermore, the musicality has provided a much fuller sound and has also increased the energy in all their live gigs. In summer 2011, Cool Sound is planning a small promotional tour. This will coincide with the release of Lee Willz debut album ‘Against Your Willz’ as well as allowing the label to broaden its horizons in different areas across the South East which aren’t yet familiar with its music.
So far, Cool Sound Recordings has had no external investment or any deal. Even with the odds stacked against them, thousands of views on YouTube, Myspace and Facebook have created a hype which follows the label everywhere. However, on a positive note a great deal of interest over the past six months has driven Cool Sound Recordings ambition to produce more and more great quality new music. Additionally, several high quality music videos and photo-shoots have also been self-sufficiently funded and organised. In November 2010, ‘Friday Night’, a song written and performed by Trademark and Lee Willz featuring Danny Who, won airplay on the extremely popular Sky music channel ‘Channel AKA’. It is at the moment played daily on this channel. In the next few months, the songs ‘Sunny Weather’ and ‘Against Your Willz’ are going to hopefully reach the TV on ‘Channel AKA’ and ‘TV Starz’.
It is believed Cool Sound Recordings are reaching a peak in what they can achieve with very limited funding. Therefore, at the moment the label is approaching possible investors to promote the great potential the label has and thus the even better possible potential of great returns on any investment funding. Currently, Cool Sound is trying to gather as many contacts as possible from within all aspects of the music industry so that hopefully in the future a major break into the industry can happen.
