Coping With Quicksand was formed in early 2007. Its members have performed in various “local” bands throughout the country over the past eight years. The guys are all best of friends and on occasion, worst of enemies, having worked on numerous projects together at one time or another. It's all about how much they can push one another both personally and musically. The decision to form under the current name, Coping With Quicksand, is based on the ideologies of second chances, new beginnings, and a collective desire to embrace the new consciousness of metal. The music seeks to embody dynamic rhythms, heavy and progressive riffs, all atop melodic and guttural vocals.
A little sentimental for a band that stomps a mud hole in your a** but that’s how they roll. The road to success, though trying at times, is every bit as rewarding, and nothing shows it more than the music. The name pretty much says it all; keeping it together is like “Coping with Quicksand”.
