Biography

MUSIC THAT MOVES!

Thats the way to describe Copperhead. From the music to the high-energy show they bring to the table. If you like a party mixed with your dancing, then it looks like you have found your band. They know what makes a good show since they were all fans first. They deliver the fun every time.

Copperhead is a four-piece Texas band from Amarillo. Jeff Williams does the singing and rhythm playing. Gabe Dixon also sings a few and lights up the lead guitar. Aaron Balderas and Chris Hodges fill out the rhythm section at bass and drums. Copperhead bas been blessed with a group that brings top-notch talent to the venues and approximately 70 years of combined experience to the show. Thats not too bad for a band that the average age is 29 years old. Even though they act 18 sometimes.

In 2003, Copperhead started piling up the accomplishments. They hit ..3 on the Progressive Country Chart and ..10 on the Texas Music Chart with their single, When The Boys Hit Tow. The whole album reached ..3 on the Progressive Album Chart as well. A story in the Amarillo Globe News featured the guys on May 16, 2003 and they were on the chart in the Best In Texas issue for the month of May. In 2003, they were named best country act and best overall band in Amarillo. Their next single was Boquillas and the guys were happy to watch it go to ..22 on the Texas music Chart and ..2 on the Progressive Chart. January of 2004 rolled around and the guys had a feature article in the San Angelo Standard Times and learned that When The Boys Hit Town hit ..39 for all of 2003 on the Texas Music Chart and was also still at ..18 on the XM Satellites Top 60 chart. In 2004, they were named best country act in Amarillo again. It is continuing as Copperhead had another feature article in the San Angelo Standard Times on November 11, 2005 claiming Copperhead On The Brink.

Copperhead has just recently released it's newest album titled Remedy. The CD has been in the works for a couple of years from Dallas to Amarillo to Nashville and the quality of the music reflects just that, as it is far beyond what When The Boys Hit Town could have ever hoped to have been. It has been at ..23 on XM's X-Country chart and has been in the top 5 requests on Radio Free Texas for the last 4 months. Remedy has recieved great reviews in publications all over the country and is currently being played on radio stations from California to Maine.

Copperhead was excited to finally get to play the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels in April of '06. Later that month, they were invited to play the most important show of their career outside of Phoenix, Arizona in the Carefree Opera House with Shooter Jennings and his mother, Jessi Colter (Waylon Jenning's wife) for a July 4 Independece day concert. They were recorded by the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Sirius Satellite Radio. It was an unforgettable night for everyone that was at that show.

Copperhead has come a long way from their first gig. It was supposed to be their one and only show for a bar-owner/friend but kept rolling until it snowballed into a Bud Light sponsorship and shows at some of the biggest clubs in Texas, including Graham Central Station and Midnight Rodeos. Theyve done shows and fairs with the biggest stars in the Texas and Nashville scenes. Including Pat Green, Shooter Jennings, Jessi Colter, Billie Joe Shaver, Charlie Robison, Jack Ingram, Marty Stuart, Jessie Colter, Shoote Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cooder Graw, Kevin Fowler, Tracy Byrd, Chad Brock, Rascal Flatts, Great Divide, Cory Morrow, Johnny Bush, Jason Boland, and Mark Wills just to name a few. They get to travel all over entertaining and theres not a lot more a musician could ask for. These guys just simply put on a great show that makes people tell others. Its high-energy and its fun to be a part of. If you dont watch out, youll find yourself in the middle of a party.

That's what Texas Music is all about and that's who Copperhead is.

I'm Bound To Win

Written By: Jeff Williams

I’m Bound To Win

Intro: Played in key of E, kicks off on B
B, E, A, E repeat.

E B E A E
When you’re fallin’ in love, you don’t think about the pain
B E A E
I wanted her more than life, and I know she felt the same
A B E A E
But life takes over and it’s hard to put a color on the blame

When you’re moments from the end, you’ll feel your heart keep the beat
You don’t want the words to fall, still they fall around your feet
Though you know it’s all for the best,
You wonder why your heart finds the same ol’ mess

Chorus
E A B E A E A E
Still I believe in love, and I’ll give it again
A B E B
Lookin’ for the one, and someday I’m bound to win
F#m G#/A A E A E
It’s this crazy thing called life we’re all struggling through
F#m G#/A A
And when push comes to shove in the end, I know
A G# F#m E
I’m bound to win

No one likes to trip, no one likes to fall
It’s the way the world was built. It works the same for us all
When you’re standing close to the flame, you might get burned
Or you might come out standing tall.

Bridge
E C#m B A E A E
You can’t have the ups ……….that you have without the downs
C#m B A B
Just better get ready…………. ‘cause it’s coming back around

Chorus

Where Imagination Fails

Written By: Jeff Williams

Where Imagination Fails
Key of G
G Em G
Don’t you know I loved you before I even knew who you were
F#/D G
The idea of a woman to stand beside me for all that I’m worth
Em G
Then our eyes met mmm I said she’s the one I know
D
I first dreamed of her so many years ago

G Em D C

G
You are the challenge that brings me balance when I’m settin’ on the sun
You are the love I find at the end when the days race is run
So don’t you worry none about where my thoughts lie
When you throw your love on me you can feel my spirit fly high

Chorus
D C G
Baby you take me to places I’ve never been
D G
You are responsible for who I am and then

I’ve been through hell and back
C G
With you upon this trail
D
Baby you take me
C G
Where imagination fails

How do you write a love song that hadn’t already been done
I don’t think it’s possible but just you wait until my song is sung
And I hope that you take into your soul and lock it deep down inside
So if you ever wonder about my heart it won’t be hard to find

Chorus
Bridge
Em D C
Where this all will lead I guess no one can say
Em D C
We’ll just take as it comes baby come what may

Modulate to A
Chorus

G Fadd9 Ewhatever
Well you got mad said some things you didn’t mean
G Fadd9 E whatever
Just like that, I don’t need you on my scene
D C G
You said once that you’d always love me
D C G
If that’s the way you show it I gotta set you free

G Em D
So, if you see me, keep on walkin’ by
G Em D
Don’t you wave, no don’t you even say Hi
G Em D
If you drive by the house keep on keep on drive in on
F C G
It’s just like you said sugar, I’m on my own

Solo

I’m a two time loser to your indecisiveness
I’m doing my best to get up outta this mess
You can bet I won’t be out hangin around no more
So you can do it again
You said you’re sorry won’t you be the bigger man
Now it’s too bad honey you no longer fit the plan

Chorus

Break
D C G
Well you got the baggage but it can’t be yourself
D C G
You think the problem falls on everyone else

So, if you see me
If you see me…yeah
So, if you see me, keep on walkin’ by
Don’t you wave, no don’t you even say Hi
If you drive by the house keep on keep on drive in on
It’s just like you said sugar, I’m on my own

I’m on my own
Oooo, I’m on my own
I’m on my own
