"Country Jukebox"

Copperhead is a band from Amarillo, Texas, self-confident of itself, they maintain a sound which is independent and has absolutely no similarity with other groups, there is no comparison. Jeff Williams (lead vocals, guitar), Gabe Dixon (guitar, vocals), Aaron Balderas (bass, vocals) and Chris Hodges (drums) have a certain proximity to the music of Steve Earle, Jason Boland, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Waylon Jennings. These are elements on its newest album called Remedy, the fans waiting four years for the new songs. It is not new but more fresh for the fans and the songs, predominantly written sound better. The Beatles more variable? The songs are a mixture of Texas Country and Country. The band of interest has a cool, somewhat re-done "Stay A Little Longer" and it is a highlight of each live-appearance. The band, for the album version, got Matt Martindale of the Texas band Cooder Graw to help remake the Bob Wills classic as a reinforcement in the studio. Time will tell but the four young men of Copperhead are perhaps already a hit on the charts. - Max W. Achatz

"Copperhead Review"

Copperhead has the "remedy" for country music - infectious energy, great writing and a wide, all-too-knowing smile. A four-piece band from Amarillo, Texas, Copperhead is a band on the verge of greater things, and Remedy is a solid step in that direction.
One part rock n' roll, one part alterna-country, Remedy is a great substitute for all the stilted, boring country music that dominates the airwaves today. A 13-track release, Remedy has a great feel and mood about it. Whether it's the rambunctious "Ride That Train" or the earthy "Patience Is A Virtue," the CD has a lot to offer lyrically.
My favorite track is "Me And Joe." There's just something about the guitars and a certain Tex-Mex feel to it that makes me want some shots of tequila or Jose Cuervo.
With solid writing in place, lead vocalist Jeff Williams is free to work his down-to-earth sensibilities on the music. It doesn't hurt that he's got solid backing from his rhythm section, which never disappoints. Copperhead, simply put, is a band with all the right tools to make a run for the brass ring. If I had a cowboy hat, I'd tip it to them and wish them the best of luck.
As interesting and energetic as Remedy is, there's a feeling of coming greatness that pervades it. It's like you're watching a storm off in the distance, and just feeling the beginning wisps of its winds. Time will tell if Remedy will be that gathering storm or not, but I feel that the sky's the limit for these guys. - Up And Coming Magazine

"Copperhead Remedy"

Copperhead is an extremely talented band and back it up with a very good sophomore CD. "Remedy" starts out rockin' with a couple cool songs "On My Own" and "Bringing The Hammer Down". With the road house like vocals of Jeff Williams combined with cool and mean guitar licks of Gabe Dixon along with Aaron Balderas on bass and Chris Hodges on drums create a tight cool sound that is a little country, a little rock that results in just plain good original music. There is also a very cool cover of the Bob Wills tune "Stay A Little Longer" that also features Matt Martindale of Cooder Graw. This is a very good CD from a band that should definitely going places. - Texas Music Mob

MUSIC THAT MOVES!

Thats the way to describe Copperhead. From the music to the high-energy show they bring to the table. If you like a party mixed with your dancing, then it looks like you have found your band. They know what makes a good show since they were all fans first. They deliver the fun every time.

Copperhead is a four-piece Texas band from Amarillo. Jeff Williams does the singing and rhythm playing. Gabe Dixon also sings a few and lights up the lead guitar. Aaron Balderas and Chris Hodges fill out the rhythm section at bass and drums. Copperhead bas been blessed with a group that brings top-notch talent to the venues and approximately 70 years of combined experience to the show. Thats not too bad for a band that the average age is 29 years old. Even though they act 18 sometimes.

In 2003, Copperhead started piling up the accomplishments. They hit ..3 on the Progressive Country Chart and ..10 on the Texas Music Chart with their single, When The Boys Hit Tow. The whole album reached ..3 on the Progressive Album Chart as well. A story in the Amarillo Globe News featured the guys on May 16, 2003 and they were on the chart in the Best In Texas issue for the month of May. In 2003, they were named best country act and best overall band in Amarillo. Their next single was Boquillas and the guys were happy to watch it go to ..22 on the Texas music Chart and ..2 on the Progressive Chart. January of 2004 rolled around and the guys had a feature article in the San Angelo Standard Times and learned that When The Boys Hit Town hit ..39 for all of 2003 on the Texas Music Chart and was also still at ..18 on the XM Satellites Top 60 chart. In 2004, they were named best country act in Amarillo again. It is continuing as Copperhead had another feature article in the San Angelo Standard Times on November 11, 2005 claiming Copperhead On The Brink.

Copperhead has just recently released it's newest album titled Remedy. The CD has been in the works for a couple of years from Dallas to Amarillo to Nashville and the quality of the music reflects just that, as it is far beyond what When The Boys Hit Town could have ever hoped to have been. It has been at ..23 on XM's X-Country chart and has been in the top 5 requests on Radio Free Texas for the last 4 months. Remedy has recieved great reviews in publications all over the country and is currently being played on radio stations from California to Maine.

Copperhead was excited to finally get to play the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels in April of '06. Later that month, they were invited to play the most important show of their career outside of Phoenix, Arizona in the Carefree Opera House with Shooter Jennings and his mother, Jessi Colter (Waylon Jenning's wife) for a July 4 Independece day concert. They were recorded by the Country Music Hall Of Fame and Sirius Satellite Radio. It was an unforgettable night for everyone that was at that show.

Copperhead has come a long way from their first gig. It was supposed to be their one and only show for a bar-owner/friend but kept rolling until it snowballed into a Bud Light sponsorship and shows at some of the biggest clubs in Texas, including Graham Central Station and Midnight Rodeos. Theyve done shows and fairs with the biggest stars in the Texas and Nashville scenes. Including Pat Green, Shooter Jennings, Jessi Colter, Billie Joe Shaver, Charlie Robison, Jack Ingram, Marty Stuart, Jessie Colter, Shoote Jennings, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cooder Graw, Kevin Fowler, Tracy Byrd, Chad Brock, Rascal Flatts, Great Divide, Cory Morrow, Johnny Bush, Jason Boland, and Mark Wills just to name a few. They get to travel all over entertaining and theres not a lot more a musician could ask for. These guys just simply put on a great show that makes people tell others. Its high-energy and its fun to be a part of. If you dont watch out, youll find yourself in the middle of a party.

That's what Texas Music is all about and that's who Copperhead is.
