Bio
Most folks have a hard time believing that Copper Possum (affectionately referred to as "CoPo" by their fans) was started in a 6th grade science class at Lausanne Collegiate School, but when drummer Graham Winchester and keyboardist Tim Stanek began jamming on pots and pans, a seed was planted. These two rowdy kids fostered a musical connection that they share to this day. Adding lead singer Ben Church and Max Quinlan, the band, while still in highschool played packed houses at local venues such as The New Daisy Theater and especially, their home away from home, The Southpark Bar and Grill (sometimes pulling in 400+ people). Four years later, the band has added bassist Daniel McKee from Memphis Jazz Legend Johnny Yancey's Sanctuary Jazz Orchestra, and Bill Mard on slow-cooked guitar. Over the years the band has shared the stage with Grace Askew, The North Mississippi Allstars, and The Pnuma Trio, Zoogma, Arpetrio, and several other big name groups.
