Copper Tree

BandAlternativeRock

Copper Tree is a three piece piano rock band that has a variety of songs ranging from soft ballads to intense odd time signatured epics. They are looking to play shows anywhere in the Massachusetts area.

Biography

In the fall of 2004, four WPI students joined together with a simple goal of making music and Copper Tree (named after a wire sculpture made by one of the band members) was born. What started as an escape from a fast-paced engineering workload began to develop into a new and different sound. Copper Tree's music was spread across campus and eventually into the Worcester community. Their diverse sound appealed to a wide range of audiences. In the fall of 2005, their debut EP "Peanut Butter and Pants" quickly became a hit as they sold hundreds of copies in the Worcester area. Since their first EP, Copper Tree has seen its share of ups and downs, including a separation with their cellist in the spring of 2007. In spite of such an unfortunate loss, the remaining members of the band decided to not only stay together, but to take their music to the next level. They continue to write new music, add new antics to their live show and redefine their sound. After several months of creation, the new Copper Tree is ready to hit the studio once again, and return to the stages of New England.

Lyrics

The Roommate Song

Written By: Liam Morley

and it's all coming together
you say how 'bout the weather
whether or not it's raining
you know i will go to the show
if you want me to go
there's no need to explain how you feel
i know how you feel and i know that it's real
you've got a certain appeal to me
and you should know by now

all i wanted to say
was "hey, how are you doing today?"
but the words got in the way
and all that came out was just the 'hey'
well, you're a needle in the stack
you're not bound to come back
there's no chance you'll be looking my way
well, the fates had conspired
just as I was growing tired of thinking of something to say, hey hey

you've been looking over your shoulder
to see me looking back at you
and i'm still so damn tired
thinking what else i can do

and it's all coming together
you say how 'bout the weather
whether or not it's raining
you know i will go to the show
if you want me to go
there's no need to explain how you feel
i know how you feel and i know that it's real
you've got a certain appeal to me
and you should know by now

there's a space in the air where the flower in your hair should be
you know you look lovely, and tonight
yes tonight, i swear that everything will be alright
there, i said it, it's true, now don't you forget it
will you be my date tonight?
i've got all of the confidence
of a fool who has no more sense than to have nothing to say, hey hey

you've been peeking over your shoulder
to find me winking back at you
and i'm still so excited
with my heart on my sleeve i just cannot believe that i found a girl here just like you

and it's all coming together
you say how 'bout the weather
whether or not it's raining
you know i will go to the show
if you want me to go
there's no need to explain how you feel
i know how you feel and i know that it's real
you've got a certain appeal to me
and you should know by now
