Bio

With the fierce guitar grooves of Ani DiFranco, the mass appeal of Sheryl Crow, and the hypnotic mystique of Sarah Mclachlan, Corday has developed a look and a sound all her own. Her live show is truly something special and is summed up best by a reviewer’s comments: “Corday exudes an incredible self-confidence”... “Totally professional... very Right Now...she’s got the songs and the stage presence.” Corday is currently in the studio working on her next full-length CD to be releasd this spring. Perhaps the most anticipated album of her career, this album promises to be nothing short of amazing.

Her last album, Driven, is still selling strong, and earned her Best Female Acoustic Act at the Orange County Music Awards. Her hit song “I Rule The World” is wowing crowds with its universal message about the power of love, while the “Inhale” buzz continues to spread as Corday joins in the fight against big tobacco. In “Better Reason” Corday celebrates newfound freedom by turning the tables on a lost love-- hear it once and you’re hooked! Corday co-produced the album with producers Matt Thorne, Matt Walin, Steve Dierkens, and Renea McKee. A digital hard-disc recording enthusiast, Corday used Logic Audio to record tracks in her home studio, before collaborating with her producers to finish the project. Although Corday is mainly a vocalist and an acoustic guitar player, she also played electric guitar, djembe, and cello on the album. Using elements of rock, pop, folk, and electronica, Corday continues to push musical boundaries by experimenting with new sounds. From phat drums, bass, and in-your-face electric guitars, to sweet jangly acoustics, lush strings, and electronic loops and grooves, Corday will keep you entranced, song after singable song.

Corday performs live on the LA and Orange County circuit, showcasing at notable venues like The House of Blues, The Coach House, The Galaxy, as well as music festivals and events across the nation, where she has opened for Pat Benetar, The B-52’s, Meredith Brooks, Cyndi Lauper, Berlin, Fastball, Something Corporate, Zoo Story, The Wild Colonials, Catie Curtis, Me'shell N'degeocello, Melissa Ferrick, and many more rising stars. She loves to rock out with her band, but often performs solo, with an amazing acoustic performance that will take you from a whisper to a scream. Whether poignant, pissed off, funny or heartbroken, Corday will win you over with her charm, her wit, and her red-hot intensity.

Most often, you will find Corday performing live with her band at junior highs and high schools, presenting her original anti-drug show, “Corday Kicks Ash!” generating a huge teenage fan-base. As an experienced credentialed teacher, she is excited about bringing a positive message to today’s youth through her music. She began performing in the classroom, but is now doing school-wide assemblies with her band. The show is great any time of year and delivers a positive message to students about saying no to drugs and tobacco, beleiving in yourself, and following your dreams. CORDAY is endorsed by several anti-drug and anti-smoking agencies including The American Cancer Society, The American Lung Association, NCADD, and TUPP. Every year, in honor of Red Ribbon Week, Corday headlines Rock For Red Ribbon, a huge community event at The Block in Orange. Sponsors include Tilly’s Clothing, LA Clippers, The Laker Girls, Vans Skatepark, Interstate Clothing, Borders Books & Music, and many more. This annual concert draws thousands of fans, and attests to Corday’s popularity in her own home town. Corday has also received grant money from the government enabling her to press and distribute thousands of copies of her hit CD single “Inhale” to teenagers at schools throughout Orange County. With the help of the San Diego Health Care Agency and popular radio station Channel 93.3, thousands more were distributed to teenagers in San Diego as part of the 93 Smoke Free Days of Summer campaign. Additionally, Corday produced an anti-smoking PSA which included her song “Inhale” and was aired all summer on cable stations throughout Orange and L.A. County. She has just re-recorded the song in Spanish and released a full-length CD, Kick Ash! which includes Inhale in Spanish and several bonus remix tracks, as well as comments from teenagers and anti-tobacco activists. Corday will be traveling the state kicking ash at health fairs, schools, and youth events everywhere.

Corday also spearheads Venus Envy, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. She released the Venus Envy compilation on Envy Records and profits go to the Long Beach Memorial Breast Center. Over $1,500 was raised at the CD release party, and showcases continue to take place at venues in Long Beach and Orange County. Corday’s previous album, Welcome To My Past, sold thousands of copies, and was described by critics as “Top 40-ready, Hook-ey songs, a rich, textured
